sgtoodles (80.5 days ago)Hi-
i tried giving my baby formula before bedtime too, after my OBGYN recommended it to help him sleep longer. Tried it at around 3 weeks old and it didn`t really work. It added about 30 min more sleep time, but baby became gassy. THen we tried formula again at about 2/1/2 months and it didnt` work then either. He would go about 1 hour longer between feedings, but didnt atually sleep. It also made his diapers a lot messier and stinky!
Didn`t work for me and my baby, but some people say it works. You can try it for a few days and see.
Jadens*MaMa (81.2 days ago)Ya i agree with mumsy my sister-in-law tried it and she said he was up earlier than usual and when i tried it at first just at night it didnt keep him full at all and when i switch all together he was about 2 months and it hurt my son`s stomach or something cuz he cried constantly it was horrble i was so disapointed in myself!!!
mumsy (81.3 days ago)Giving them formula to fill them up and sleep longer doesn`t work...sorry!
mariettap (81.5 days ago)You`re the mommy, and you get to call this shot. See what works for YOUR family. I`m guessing you`re shooting for a longer stretch of sleep at night. Give it a whirl and see how it goes. You might try pumping at first right after you put her down, just in case you don`t get the effect you`re going for and you want to go back to breast before bed.
sadielady (81.6 days ago)it might make her sleep longer.. what are your reasons for breastfeeding??
breastfeeding at all is great! but alot of the benefits only come when its done exclusively i think
kathleen (81.7 days ago)i can`t see it really doing any harm and would probably make your baby feel fuller and sleep longer though the night. but be aware that your baby might not take to the 1st formula give her, it took 3 diffrent 1`s b4 i found 1 that my daughter will drink but even now its only 2-3oz
