kerusso13 (522.5 days ago) I am 10 weeks preggo and my hubby and i are not going to find out!! i think it will be so amazing when i have it and they sit it on my belly and say `its a boy` or `its a girl.` As for clothing, it does make it easier if you know. but I am only buying a few outfits (i dont like green and yellow) so i am thinking blue and red and bright things. but as for the baby shower, i am having a `diaper shower` with things like diapers obviously, shampoo, baby lotion, bottle cleaners, etc! we can buy clothes after the baby is born!
jmx (522.5 days ago) its up to you really ive always found it easier to find out as you can pick names and clothes but on the other hand a suprise would be nice
windchime (523.3 days ago) There are benefits to both - personally I chose to wait because I think it will be so fun to have a surprise. I don`t need to know the gender to connect with my baby. Sure it`s easier for clothes shopping, but you can always just buy a few things and go shopping after baby is born. Do whatever you feel like doing and don`t let anyone try to cajole you into something else.
summerisis (523.8 days ago) I didn`t find out and have no regrets. I really wanted a girl and my hubby really wanted a boy so I didn`t want either of us to be disappointed. We knew we couldn`t be disappointed if s/he was already here. Yes, yellow and green clothes can be ugly so I only bought 11 outfits and was completely prepared for a baby regardless of its sex.
mommytobe007 (523.9 days ago) I think its a good idea to find out the sex because it makes everything easier in the long run when it comes to baby shopping. I found out i was having a boy when i was only 16 weeks prego :)
gr8scottswife (524.2 days ago) I like to find out the baby`s sex before because I can then stop calling the baby, `baby, the baby, little one, thumper, etc.` and have a real name to call my baby and use pronouns that are appropriate for the child. Every time I have a conversation and I`m talking about the baby, I`ll say, `he` and someone will interrupt and say, `Oh, it`s a boy?`. I have to say, well I don`t know I just say that because it`s easier than saying, `baby` everytime. Plus, I feel more connected when I can call my child by the child`s name and can imagine the first birthday party, the first day of school, holding my little one, decorating, etc.
