LovingAaydenXzavier (205.3 days ago)i`m kindof in the same position as you...my son had his first hep b in the hospital and the second at his 1mth check up (and his is perfectly fine)...but i`ve been doing alot of thinking about the 2mth checkup when he is supposed to be getting 4 shots...that seems like ALOT to me. I worked w/autistic children this past summer..and i am extremly scared that it could happen to my son...not to mention i have an aunt who has an autistic son..however she is only a half aunt...if it is genetically linked...it could be on my side. Also, Andrea1222 has her numbers wrong it`s not 1 in 50..it`s 1 in 150...but that`s not really a better. I am not going to cut out the vaccines altogether...i think that`s just a scary as autism...i am considering having them spaced out...and prob skip the chicken pox vaccine....i didn`t get it and i`m fine...but the advice to check out the vaccination forum is good advice. I would also talk to your doc...mine said she didn`t think there was any link...but i`m a lil sceptical....Good luck in your decision making process....it all depends on how you feel and what you think is best for your child.
Andrea1222 (206.4 days ago)I REFUSE to give my son and this coming baby any shots!! not every child can handle the dosage than another can, and unless they are going to daycare, they arent even going to be exposed to any of those things that they are getting immunized for, i definitely think some children react differently and it can cause autism...listen to parents who have gone through it rather than doctors..those doctors arent with those children night and day and didnt see the changes that a lot of children go through after getting those shots. if anything wait until school age where their body is stronger and handle those dosages...dont ruin such a pure gift from god, the chances are super rare that they will get those diseases so early in life...there is a reason why there is 1 in 50 or less kids getting autism...i dont think its a coincidence
KarenVG (206.5 days ago)this is part of beng a parent. You have to way the info you have and make the desicion it is a very personal one. I have vaccinated all my children according the schedule as I feel God is in control of what happens. But I keep a very close eye on what is in the news. the one vaccine I will not let my girls have however is a new one they have bought out to prevent cervical cancer... I just feel not enough is known about it, it is too new and I just have strong feelings about how it has been pushed here.
jeanette (206.5 days ago)AskDrSears.com is a great place to start in looking for the answers to your questions. My son`s doc spreads the vaccinations out, and only gives two at a time max. I`m also going to go to a travel clinic when it is time for him to get the the MMR, and have them seperate it into M, M, and R.
Holly28 (207 days ago)I work with Children who have autism. Over half of the kids I have worked with`s parents have commented to me at one point or another that their child was fine up until they had their vacines around 2yrs. I know there is no actual data that links the two but for me...I am will only be getting my child the absolutely necessary vacinations and I WILL be waiting until my child is older for them to get them as most children develop autistic traits between the ages of 2-5. This is NOT a change I am willing to take. I see daily the effects that this condition has on the child, the families and EVERYONE in this child`s world.
april mcspadden (207.3 days ago)My niece is austistic and I see it everyday its horrible, not to mention so hard on my sister. We have a 10 month old and another one coming in oct. He has gotten his first basic shots, he will not have any of the mmr ones until a much later date, probably around 3 years old. His doc who we have had for 6 years said on a personal note he WOULD NOT have the mmr shots until at least 18 months. 18 months and after is when they are pretty much in the safe zone. I personally would not get any of th eMMR shots until much later. hope this helps
summerisis (207.3 days ago)I postponed Hep B for 1 month which was my pediatrician`s idea. I`ve spaced the next set so she got 2 shots one month and the next 2 the following month. And we`ll skip the chicken pox vaccine altogether.
Number2intheoven (207.4 days ago)There`s no link between autism and vaccinations. There has been no direct link found. There are more kids with vaccinations that are autistic because there are more kids with vaccinations in the world.
RobinG (207.4 days ago)Great place to read is the vaccination forum here, read all the posts if you can :) there are many views on it posted there :)
