maybaybay (115.6 days ago)my lil girl took a nu nu until 3 mths. then started sucking her 2 fingers, i tried to give her the nu nu but she only wanted her fingers especially when tired, now shes 3 almost 4 still sucking her same 2 fingers not so cute anymore but i read its ok they usually stop on their own and its ok as long as they stop by age 5, but its hard gettin her to quit and shes always doing it even if she plays in the dirt its kinda a bad habit but i believe once shes around other kids and see they don`t do it she`ll stop on her own, i don`t mind but my hubby hates it and makes her stop but she always does it again out of habit!!!!!
sexymummy (115.8 days ago)you could just buy her a teething ring or sumin with a squishy texture like that
scruz (115.9 days ago)My daughter had to have her soothie pacifier until she got her first tooth( 6 months) and then she refused it, now she cuddles and nurtures her blankie (very cute). But she doesn`t chew or suck on anything which is a big relief. We had to be persistent with the pacifier at first and even hold it for her. She wanted it but could not keep it in.
RobinG (116 days ago)I found the soother brands harder to stay in versus mam because the shape of the nipple ~ and the mam newborns are a bit smaller or premiee, try those for size too :)
RobinG (116 days ago)My first two wantd the pacifier my last one has fingers (or his satin blanket which I strongly encourage ~ it is what it is, you cant make them prefer one over the other so I`d let it be. There are pros and cons to both and those neices and nephews in my family that preferred fingers did just fine.
kathleen (116.1 days ago)my daughter has hated having a dummy, i have tried all different shapes and sizes and she just spits them out. when she was younger she was always putting her fingers in her mouth when she was getting upset or restless so i use to take them out and give her a comfort blankie instead which she started 2 rub between her fingers or around her face and she even sucks on the corner of her blankie instead of her fingers. sometimes she still put her fingers in her mouth if she were hungry but its not very often at all.
kater (116.2 days ago)maybe she would just prefer a different size or shape dummy.my daughter was a `dummy` girl, but at first she spat them out, them cried and tried to such something else, so we knew she wanted to suck. we tried a number of different ones before we found one she liked. btw, she had a dummy until she was about 2, and we weaned her slowly, making only certain times of the day `dummy times` then, we told her there were crying babys who needed her dummys, and shes so kind hearted, even at 2 she understood, and gave away all her dummys
summerisis (116.2 days ago)My daughter spits hers out too (due to force, not dislike) so I hold it for her and cuddle her. That way it`s used to nurture and soothe her and is only used before bedtime.
TnKz.Bebe (116.3 days ago)Sorry forgot to mention my son also `spit` his soother out alot at first still kinda does, I mentioned it to our family doc and he said by watching he gets very eager and has a very strong suck so its not that he DOESNT want it .. it pops out because theres force behind it.
TnKz.Bebe (116.3 days ago)I wouldnt persist on giving her a soother if she spits it out all the time! HOWEVER my son is a BIG soother baby, sometimes he`ll cry for one, and at 1st I told myself no I cant let him become reliant on them but then my finacee explained to me how his mother was the same way as me and she did want to give into her youngest sons erge to suck on one so he found his thumb and it took him about 13yrs (gr. 7) to loose it. So its completely up to you but that in its self made me feel ok with my decision. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS
