KateOhm`s poll Show results | Hide results

Other-poll poll My 4 year old has what looks like some sort of a bug bite on his ankle, but now it is really red and swollen. He says is doesn`t hurt, but he keeps messing with it. I have given him Benidryl (sp) but it doesn`t seem to help. Any advice?

what does the bite look like? Does it itch?

I had MRSA too and so did my husband. It was hard for them to diagnose at the time because it wasn`t as prevalent. You should mention it to the doctor. Don`t expect them to be on the up-and-up. You`ll need to take the lead.

could be turning into impetigo..my son gets it every time he gets a bug bite its weird...i guess of the right bacteria is carried by the bug it will get into his system, get it looked at

Oh ya I was just talking to a family member about the MRSA just the other day. You can have a bug bite and it can lead to a staph infection very easily. Its a bad infection that has been going around lately. Maybe just get it checked out to be safe. Or try using cortizone(sp).

get it checked out asap. The skin staph infection MRSA is going around. I had it about 6 months ago...and personally know 2 people who have it rite now....it`s cureable as long as it`s caught in time and the right antibiotic is used. I thought i got biten by a spider and when i went to the doctors a week later he was shocked (and pissed) that I hadn`t been in eariler...it leads to very bad things.

Try after bite, put a little on that should take away the stinger in the bite. You go also try Gold Bond anit-itch ointment, that will take away the swelling. If it is still as bad after a day or two try pouring some anti-peroxide. But it may just go away on it`s own.
