windchime (1316.7 days ago) I`m preg. with my first, so I can`t speak from experience, but this sounds like something I read in `Secrets of the Baby Whisperer.` The author says that babies sometimes nurse because they want to suckle, not b/c they`re hungry. The book suggests putting your baby on a schedule so she is eating every 2-3 hrs, allowing for more frequent feeds during growth spurts, which should last only a few days at a time. Check out the book - it has lots of good advice for eating, sleeping, calming baby, etc. EditDelete
Rebecca (1316.9 days ago) The reason that you dont feel as though you have any milk is because your baby is eating all the time, your boobs dont get a chance to fill up. Dont worry as hotpotaaaaaato stated they go through a growth spurt around 3 months or so. If she is gaining the weight and has lots of wet diapers then I wouldnt be concerned. Just wait and she will slow down on the feedings, it just takes time.... EditDelete
hotpotaaaaato (1317.7 days ago) I see your babe is 3 months old.... that`s usually when they hit a growth spurt. I say stick it out... the more baby sucks on your boobs, the more milk you`ll start to produce! Good luck! EditDelete
