didnt have a show at all with both my girls and had to have what little waters i had broken about an hour before my 2nd was born was born!! so no you dont have to have them before labour starts! your show mite even be in with your waters when they go and you cant tell!

When I had my daughter (nearly four years to the day) I went into hospital with really bad backache I was 5 days over due and they said I was in labour, I had no show or waters breaking and no tightening of the stomach but I was 3cm dilated when I went into hospital. I had to have my waters broken and within about 5 hours Lucy was born :)

Very common. Only 15% of all women actually experience their water break. (That number varries from 10 - 20%, you can do a google search.) I`m going for baby #3, and I`ve yet to experience my water break. I wish I would though! :)

i did-my dr did a `membrane sweep` on me the FIRST day she checked to see how dilated i was (36wks-6days according to her-and 1day from being exactly 9mths according to me) and i went in to labor that nite around 3am and had my baby the next day.
