I loved the Medela Manual Harmony pump. It was amazing when I pumped for Jackson. It worked better than the double electric pump!

I have a manual Avent breast pump and I love it! I breast feed exclusively so there is no reason for me to pump as much.. I can express 6 ounces from my right breast under 10 mins and my left ..ugh that is the slow boob so that takes time to pump..if you go manual I recommend the Avent brand.. easy to clean dishwasher safe and you control the sucking pattern.. if you plan on pumping alot I would say invest in an electrical pump don`t get a cheap electrical pump I tried first years it was not that great pump kept getting backed up with milk into the motor.. I recommend Lansinoh Electric pump cost between a 100-200 dollars.. great reviews ..a few friends of mine have used it and love it lots ;0)

Don`t screw around with cheap pumps- you get what you pay for. They can hurt you and hurt your supply. Get a high quality one- but save money and buy a used one from ebay. I just got a $250 model for $86. You can buy the parts that actually have milk come in contact with them or boil the other ones.

I have the electronic playtex one from Target and it does a good job. Manual is awful....I do not recommend that at all.

Hey..I donit have a baby yet, I`m due in October, but I do have some advice on breats pumps. My sister is a nurse in the NICU at a hospital and she told me to rent the one from the hospital. She said those are the best. Just thought I`d let you know...

I bought a Medela single battery/electric pump... I LOVED it. I only needed to pump 1-2 bottles a day and it worked perfectly. A little noisy, but I`ve heard that for most. Great suction, you don`t get exhausted manually.. I would read while pumping. I used it for 10 months and it`s still working great and I`m ready to use it again for my next baby! I bought it at Babies r Us for about 65$. Good luck!

Hi, Agonzales. :) With my last pregnancy I bought 2 breast pumps. One was middle of the road (aprx. $75.00) and the other was expensive (aprx. $200.00) and neither one did the job for me. The more expensive one was quiet, and had decent suction but I just wasn`t producing enough.. in fact, the more I pumped the less I seemed to produce. *sigh* I think the hospital you go to will have lactation consultants who will help you answer this question, unless you`re going another route (midwife, home delivery etc.)... Anyway, my husband and I are expecting another baby in about 12 weeks and this time, we`ve decided to rent a hospital pump. From my understanding, there is just no comparison and for the price, it`s worth the it. Who is to say that you may have no problem? It may be quite easy for you and if that`s the case, I`d suggest something middle of the road (but ELECTRIC! not manual hahaha) .... but for us, and my bad luck pumping, next time around is definitely going to be 100% pro (per a lactation consultant with hospital rental pump). I wish you lots of luck because if you have to supliment (like I did) you may want to give up pumping all together and formula is UNBELIEVEABLY expensive.

I bought this one 7 months ago and it is easy to use, easy to clean and still working properly. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2403113

  1. We just shared the news in our small town that we are expecting our second child. To my suprise a lot of people were shocked. Do you think 18 months is too close together?? How far apart in age are your children? My sister and I are 14 months, so I thought 18 was a pretty big gap!
