I AM USING THE PLAYTEX DROP INS AND I HAVE ONLY FOUND TWO STAGES. SLOW AND FAST...I CANT FIND A MEDIUM?

Before going from slow to fast you should try medium. Might be too big of a jump to skip over med. flow and go right to fast.

i use the fast flow ones when i put cereal in his bottle since it makes the formula thicker...and still use the slow ones w/ just formula when he has stage 1 food w/ it....and i didnt start the cereal in his formula til he was bout 3-1/2mths.

Depends on baby and brand. My son went to a stage 2 Dr. Browns at 2 weeks, a stage 3 at 8 months. Avent stage 2`s are like Dr. Browns stage 3`s. Babies who are ready for the next stage will often be hungry again soon after eating. They stopped eating because their mouth got tired even though they were still hungry or will refuse the nipple because sucking hurts to suck so hard ~

It depends on the baby. When they have to suck too hard to get food just as fast then its time to move up to the next nipple. Generally they will start fussing during feedings cause they arent getting it fast enough.

I think it depends on the baby, I use the Playtex drop ins and my 1st born went to fast flow at 8 weeks, my 2nd son didn`t go to fast flow until 4 months.

I use Avent bottles but my son has changed through the teats faster than recommended. He used to fall asleep with the newborn teats as he would tire himself sucking. I asked our Midwife and she advised trying the next size up and it worked, he took all his bottle and slept longer afterwards. You`ll know its right if they are not spilling the milk out the sides of their mouth.

my daughter HATES any fast flows...she cries and screams after using fast flow nipples, so she uses the stage one and she is 8 months old. She would finish a bottle in 45 minutes or less and thats just not good for digestion. i think you try the next step up and if they take to it, then its time to move up. your baby will let you know.

well i use the avent bottles and there is 4 stages with them the last stage where the nipple has 4 holes is used at 6 months my son is 4 motnhs and I use a nipple with three holes
