expectingnumb3 (22.7 days ago)my dad, two grandfathers, an uncle, and my brother are all named James. My uncle and my brother (both grown one is 40 or so my brother is 24) are still called Jimmy around friends and family. At work they call them James. My sister`s husband is also named James and they just call him James but that is his middle name. I know for the rest of the family they were called Jimmy when they are younger then as adults it has turned into Jim mostly. Something formal then it is James. Oh by the way theses James`s are on both my mom and my dad`s side of the family! My mom 1st married a James then my sister married a James! i hope this helps. I do not think anyone in the family will be named james again at lest for awhile or not their 1st names in our family!

zenzabar (33.7 days ago)My bf`s name is James and his entire family calls him Jimmi and a lot of his friends too, but not me.
kater (33.9 days ago)i know two Jameses, one who is called Jim, one who is called James. no one would ever call James Jim, and vice versa. Jim`s parents really liked the name Jim, so they called him that from a baby, so hes never been known as anything else. i think its what the parents set as precedent. i know with my daughter (Olivia) when she was born, someone called her `Ollie` and i said `no thats not her name, please dont call her that` and she was never called it again. if you like a nickname, go with it, if not just politely say not to call your son that
