It doesn`t matter if they like it or not. If you are naming the baby after someone that you and hubby want to name him after then it`s no one`s business!!

Emmett was my Great Uncle`s name. I think it is nice. A little old fashioned. Lol, so are my children`s names. If you like it, go for it.

If they don`t like it it`s tough! It`s your decision and if you like it go for it! Especially seeing as it means something special to you. Everybody hates the names I have chosen, and I was really worried at first, but I`ve started to realise that it`s not up to them and that they will just have to deal with it! x

Both sides of the family hated both of our kids names, Hunter & Hudson...they all got used to it. Well all except my grandma who will to this day tell me Hunter is a `mean name` and that Hudson reminds her of `a stupid car out of that one damn movie`...she`s kind of a hateful little ol` lady but I love her anyway. :)

I agree who care what anyone thinks! Its your child and it means something to you! No one has liked one name we have picked but I dont even care! Name your baby what you want to name your baby! Everyone else will fall in line! Baby dust...

Who cares what they like? It`s sentimental, and Emmett is a good name. It`s what you like. My MIL mentioned that she doesn`t like Taylor for a girl, but that is the name we thought we might name our girl. At first, I changed my mind, but then I thought, `I am not changing it. She may feel that it is a boy`s name, but I think it can be either, so the world will have to deal.` There will always be someone who doesn`t like the name. The whole world would never agree to one name. So, it`s really what you like that counts.
