crystalblueeyes (1693.4 days ago) i had an episotomy but tore some too, they said it was 3rd degree and it seemed like it took him forever to sew me up. i was also sore at my 6 wks check up but only really when he checked me. sex was unbarable for months and i would bleed everytime we tried. took like 4 months to get back right and i hope i dont have to deal w/ that again if i ever do get preg again, which im hoping for soon. goodluck hun.
coltonsmom (1762.8 days ago) I had an episotomy with my first baby and was given no pain killers, was just told to take Tylenol (this was 22 years ago) - And the recovery time seemed like an eternity. I remember getting my daughter baptised a month after she was born and I still couldn`t sit in the church pews without being in pain. Needless to say, when my next pregnancy came along (last August), I told my Dr. upfront I`d rather tear than be cut. Period. They told me I had some tearing after the fact, but I wasn`t in any pain. Of course, now-a-days, they give you pain killers after child birth, so either way, it may not have been as bad as my first experience. For me? I`m heading for another delivery soon (end of Sept/ or early Oct.) and once again, I am going to decline the procedure if it`s offered. I`d rather tear naturally, if I do tear at all. Good luck with everything!!
