jenny504 (1292.6 days ago) i recently had my 4 month old to the peditricain and he said they are now recommending you start cereal at 4 months old. I have not started my 4 month old on it yet cause he doesn`t seem to need it, however i told the pedi that my oldest son was drinking 8 ounces at 10 weeks old and still hungry and i just want ahead and started him on the rice cereal WITHOUT consulting a doctor and the pedi said it is a good thing you did b/c if your child has too much milk you can put him into cardiac arrest and cause other problems and he was only 10 weeks old. To be honest i really don`t care what the doctors recomend i will start my baby on cereal when i think they need it. EditDelete
MALACHIsMOM (1293 days ago) They really don`t recommend introducing solids until 6 months. The introduction of solids early has been linkied to childhood obesity and higher cholesteral. I don`t know how much of that is actually true though. I think that with my son I started giving him cereal at about the same age, then baby food by 6 months. He is very lean and tall. Just talk to your Dr. and do what feels right. EditDelete
heather4185 (1293 days ago) yep its fine hun. i started my little girl on rice cereal at 4 months and within a week she was eating it 3 times a day lol we then moved onto other foods at 5 months. have a look on HIPP website there is a cool chart you can download that has all the info about what foods and when to feed them. It was a help to me, i didnt follow it religiously but it was helpful. You may start to get 10-12 hours out of her now shes feeling fuller. EditDelete
