Alise (59.9 days ago)Paci might work. i think thats what my parents called it when i was little.
katrina23 (60 days ago)i call it a bink
~NyMom (60 days ago)My first called her pacifier a `bobo(rhymes with coco)` and we call our second daughter`s blanket a `binkie` since she doesn`t get soothed without it ;0)
Autumn (60.3 days ago)We call it a `sucky`... it was pretty easy for my son to say as well :)
KateyBaby (61.8 days ago)a name for a pacifier has always been the same in my family...its either been sucky or soother...its very interesting to read others comments and see what others use. :)
jo1979 (62.3 days ago)I`ve heard people call them dodos (dough-dough) or dodi (dough-di) or even dummy. It`s whatever you think is easiest to remember and what you would recognise if your baby was to say it. Good luck! :o)
jenny504 (62.8 days ago)I call it a binkie!
hotpotaaaaato (63.1 days ago)I would recommend showing him a baby signs dvd... they`re great! You could also make up a sign that would indicate paci, and communicate that way. My daughter picked up on signs and used them all the time... it was great cause then we could communicate before she had all the words and wouldn`t get frustrated, and it definately didn`t hinder her speech progress! Good luck with all
KateOhm (63.1 days ago)That you to everyone who actually helped me and didn`t give me criticism for asking what I thought was a simple question.
jenakers (63.2 days ago)My son was that young and called things by their names. Specifically `kitty` was his 3rd word and he would only say it when kitty was nearby and he was looking right at him. We called it a binky....he called it `B`
zenzabar (63.2 days ago)My little brother called his a `fire` it was cute. My daughter doesn`t take one.
monica9 (63.3 days ago)maybe when he wants it, you can say binkie (exaggerate it), but then say buh,buh (for him to only have to say the beginning sound until he is able to say the whole thing). saying the beginning sound is better than not saying anything at all. good luck
Cynlee47 (63.3 days ago)We have always called it a binkie in our family, although the last born is now 14 it`s hard to remember how long it took him to catch on. lol... but with my girl we will be calling it a binkie too.
alex76 (63.3 days ago)Same as Leisa we call them dummies in the UK too, my daughter called her`s a dum dum at first too
kater (63.4 days ago)lol, i really hate it when ppl give things `baby` names. i figure it makes it harder for the child, cause they learn things are called one thing, then have to learn a whole new set of terms a little later. i would stick with what you are already calling it.
leisawessa (63.6 days ago)Here is Australia we call them DUMMIES.
You could call it DumDum.
Don`t confus the baby to much with your own language as when he is being looked after by someone eles, he will be asking for something and they won`t know what the hell he`s going on about. Use simple langauge and sign langague too. `Baby Sign` is a great book that you can use from as early as 3 months. Using words like eat, drink, sleep, general stuff. Good luck sounds like your little one is switched on. Keep it simple.
agonzales (63.6 days ago)I dont think hes too young to learn and absorb.. I was saying I think hes probably a little too young to say it right now. However he does sound really smart and like a fast learner.
pooka (63.6 days ago)The biggest mistake people make is assuming children are too young to absorb and learn when they are just little sponges! .. keep encouraging him and talking to him.. my son is 4 months and I constantly tell him the names of things and talk to him like he understands. I like paci, my sons is his sucky .. nuk is cute too :)

busymommyof3 (63.6 days ago)with both children , we called it binkie. i agree maybe a bit 2 young. keep calling it binkie or maybe even `bink`
jpcm (63.6 days ago)I don`t really think there is a `set age to learn things...we maybe told that...and other moms may say...`my child did this at this age...your child is too young, but that`s crazy!!!!` Sounds like your baby is smart!!!! Go with it...with my daughter we used NuNook....she started off saying nunu...then went to nunook. How else are babies supposed to learn ...if we don`t associate..words to objects...they learn what things are by what we tell them they are!! Congrats!!!!
MommyOf3Gurlz (63.6 days ago)i don;t think babies are ever too young to pick up and learn things, i would go with paci or Nuk =)
KateOhm (63.6 days ago)You may think it`s too young, but he does know. He says `hi` when you walk in the room or open the car door and he looks at his bottle and says `baba`, cries `dada` or `mama` when one of us walks away or if he wants the other person and says `nigh nigh` when he`s tired. Every baby is different and even his doctor is amazed with his development. Thanks for your opinion though.
agonzales (63.6 days ago)I agree with the comment under mine. 6 months is still kinda young and he may not understand what the binkie is even though you call it binkie when talking to him.
TattooedMommyof2Soon (63.6 days ago)6 months is a bit too young to be calling things by their names. My son is 8 months, and he says Mom, Dada, and Yea, however, I don`t think he realizes that he says them at the appropriate time. I`d wait until the baby is at least a year old before he knows what things really are.
