I was abotu 2 cm dialated when my doc stripped the membranes. I lost my plug about 2 days later and went into labour just under a week labour.

I had a membrane sweep at 38 weeks and it didn`t work, but the next week I had another and was in labor within an hour. I think it really depends on how ready your body is. The first sweep didn`t hurt at all but the second one that worked almost put me in tears. Its only a few seconds long and I was so ready to drop my baby so it was worth it. Oh yeah and I was 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. I`d do it again if I had to. Good luck!

i was 100% effaced and 2 cm dialated when they stripped my membranes...didnt go into labor for 3 more wks :( Oh and by the way it hurts like heck when they do it...im definately opting out of that proedure this time
