~NyMom (113.3 days ago)I use it ..once we took it out from all the things we heard and my daughter slammed her head on the dresser part of the crib when she rolled over.. she slammed it pretty hard.. than she got her leg caught in between the bars.. we just put the bumper back in.. when she does sleep in the crib we just raise the bumper about 2 inches away from the mattress using my daughter`s pony tail holders ( the ones with the balls on the end) and she slept well there was no need to worry about her breathing against it or smothering herself.. so we have a happy safe baby and an upset daughter because her pony tail holders lol! but once the baby begins moving, sitting up and becoming all grabby we will remove them ( and the pony tail holders) because they tend to use them as a stepping pad.. my first ripped hers off
daisybaby (113.4 days ago)i used one until baby could pull herself up to her feet. i swaddled her until she was 5 1/2 months so she didn`t move around much. but once she could pull herself up to her feet (and stopped swaddling, of course!) i took it out because she could use it as a step to launch herself out of her crib.
MSUSpartan (113.5 days ago)I bought the breathable type of bumper and will use that for a while. I`ll switch to the cute regular bumpers that match his bedding later on.
CassandraLee (114.1 days ago)I wouldnt use it until baby rolls over really well. You`ll notice that baby can roll over easily and away from things that bother them. I think thats a good time to have it in there. But I wouldnt before then. If baby can only roll over in one direction with a little trouble he may get stuck with that in his face. Alot of groups/doctors will say no to use them because of the SIDS risk. They say you shouldnt have bumper pads, blankets or toys.
