mamma2be (1276.6 days ago) My son was 9.5 oz and had him naturally. He came 9 days after my due date. They did have to give me pitocin to help him come down. Hope this helped!
sweetmomma (1276.8 days ago) my 1st daughter weighed 10 6oz and was 23 inches long and they didn`t even want me to try vag birth i had to have her by c-section, so i feel for you and good luck.
coltonsmom (1276.8 days ago) No need to apologize, RobinG. Some OBGYN`s may say 38 weeks is full term, some may not. Mine said it is. And lungs are fully developed then, so I guess it`s all in what the Dr. says.
Just♥Mommy (1276.8 days ago) My doctor swore up and down that I was having a 10lb baby too. She kept telling me that I should consider c-section bc she honestly didn`t think I could handle having that big of a baby. My daughter was born 7lbs 15oz and I was ALL water - that is why I was sooo big. She was also super long which didn`t help any, but she wasn`t near 10lbs like they were warning me. Estimating the size of your baby when it`s full term - is very unreliable and hard to determine bc of how cramped it is. I do know a couple ppl that have delivered naturally and they had 10lb babies. Good luck to you.
TNMom (1276.8 days ago) My biggest was only 7lb 15oz, but my sister`s biggest was 10lb 15oz and she delivered vaginally!!
RobinG (1276.8 days ago) Not by any of my docs or hospitals it isnt ~ even if it is informally considered full term, formally it isnt ~ my SIL works in a high risk perinatal center and L&D for years and only informally is 38 weeks full term, not formally by all medical facilities. Sorry
coltonsmom (1276.8 days ago) 38 weeks is considered full term.
RobinG (1276.8 days ago) My first was 9 lbs 13.5 oz and I had to have a section, he never dropped so natural wasnt even an option to try. I had a vbac with my 2nd and he was 8.3, he should have been a section as well. My body just couldnt deliver babies bigger then 8 lbs. My 3rd was a section. :) My hospital will not deliver/induce unless there is a medical reason before 39 weeks so being military really doesnt change things, we arent military. I`d do lots of walking and sex too if you can but most importantly I `d ask if the baby has engaged and if not if the baby is considered a `floater` which means they cant because they are to big and just float and not drop like me. Daniel had a dent in his forhead from my pelvic bone and his head being to big to fit. (())
sadielady (1276.9 days ago) mine was 6.2.. born at 36 weeks. vaginally. good luck!
jcurran23 (1276.9 days ago) My son was 9lbs. 4oz. at 38 weeks. After 24 hours of labor they finally realized he wasn`t going to fit so I had a csection.
mcltweety (1276.9 days ago) They told me at 38 weeks that I`d be lucky if my baby girl was 7lbs that she was real small, I gave birth at 39 weeks to a 8lb 11oz baby girl vaginal, I tore on inside and had to have 5 stitches and tore on outside and had to have 4 more. (not trying to scare you). My friend had a 10lb 14oz baby girl and had to have a c-section(emergency) because they didn`t know her baby was that big until she was in labor and then realized it. But other then my stitches I had no trouble delivering my almost 9lb baby girl. But I`d say in my own option that if you are having contractions and the baby is that big already that they mis-figured your due date and you might be full term NOW! My first was due Jan.22nd, Christmas day I was in labor and was stopped, Jan.15th she was born and then I was told that I was in REAl labor Christmas day and that they were sorry but they should of let me have her then, that was why she was big because she was over-due. They can get due dates wrong.
coltonsmom (1276.9 days ago) OMG, 10 lbs already. My heart goes out to you. I was told that my daughter was going to be big, over 9 lbs. - but she was only 6 lbs. 14 oz. That was 22 years ago though, so I`m sure things have advanced. If you`re having contractions now, I`d try to see if I could kick-start myself into labor. Nipple stimulation, lots of sex with hubby, walking and I`ve also heard doing a lot of squawts helps. ::shrug:: If you`re a smaller woman, the baby may just be too big to come vaginally. I`d ask the Dr. for sure. I find it extrememly crappy that you`re technically full term with a ginormous baby and they will not induce until 39 weeks. That doesn`t make any sense to me at all. Best of luck to you sweet heart.
