MichelleMc(pink!)`s poll Show results | Hide results

Other-poll poll When I was little, my mom would lick her thumb and rub my face where she thought it looked dirty. Will you/do you do this with your child(ren)?
(Other poll by MichelleMc(pink!), 1270 days ago)
Yes; their face should look clean!
Maybe; hadn't really thought about it.
No, that's gross.
Hey, good idea!

I can`t help it in an `emergency` situation! If there`s no soap and water...good `ol spit on my thumb will have to do! I know its gross, but better than them walking around looking like nobody owns them! LOL!!

At this point, I don`t plan on doing it. My mom says she never did it because she thinks it`s gross. Things could change though when my baby is born.

LOL.My mom did the same to all 4 of us. We hated it. I don`t think I`d do the same to my children. I know they`d hate it too.

I think it`s sooo gross... and yet when we`ve run out of wipes, I`ve done this with my daughter. :( oh well!! Things change when you`re a mom

My mother used to do this to me and it was the nastiest thing. I think I`m still traumatized by it based upon irrational reactions to things like someone else`s chewing gum. When my son used to get stuff on his face and I had no wipes, I would get him to lick my thumb. When he was old enough, he would take care of business himself.

I always swore I wouldn`t because I HATED this as a kid. Yet, she wasn`t 4 days old when I found myself doing this to my daughter.

OMG!!! I HATED this as a child. I was normally a well mannered, non-tempermental child but, this would beyond gross me out. I would run screaming for the hills when I saw that slimey finger coming for me and what was worse is when I got older she MADE me sit still for her spitty thumb to be rubbed on my face! I swore I would NEVER do this to my child......until.....(Choke, gasp)It was my ONLY option....I licked my finger.. paused.... staring at it with utter disdain....sick with what I was about to do next.....I did it, I smeared the smudge off of his face with my spitty finger.....Oh, I`m sooooo ashamed...this secret, I`ll take to the GRAVE! (besides you ladies knowing my horrible secret...shhhhh!)

  1. OMG, I posted on FB (in reponse to a suggestion made to me on From Our House To Yours) that I didn`t like a business because the items were very expensive and my friend got a bad deal there and the owner is threatening to sue me! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I actually paid a consultation fee and my lawyer told me that she was `absurd with possible mental health problems.` I am protected by the fisrt ammendment to express my honest opinions freely where I choose, but he said she can take it to court(because people can TRY to sue over anything) anyway and that it might cost me legal bills. We will both be out a lot of money because she couldn`t possibly win. Can you believe that? FML! First my records and now this! I hope my baby isn`t a bad luck baby. I see people not recommending or recommending businesses all the time on FB!
  2. Is SaraKelly still on here? I know she was a mod but I didn`t see her post in the previous Who Is A Mod poll...
  3. ANGRY!!!! My jenakers account is missing my ENTIRE journal from my high risk pregnancy and my letthisonestick account for my 7 month old is completely gone along with my journal. I AM SICK OVER IT!
  4. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.
  5. How long did it take you to get pregnant after you got your IUD (Mirena) out?
  6. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
  7. My daughter is almost 5 months and 3 weeks ago my hair started falling out. I know it`s normal but how long did it last for you?
  8. With all the issues going on with the site maybe we need an updated list on Mods. Obviously Laura is the one to go to but if there is a concern and it needs immediate attention and a Mod is online it may be good to know who is who so you can reach out to them. Mods, can you please post here so we know who you are. (Esp since some profiles names had to be changed because of recent log on issues)
  9. Anyone wanna try http://parentspuzzlepieces.spruz.com/ a free community site I just made? Let me know if you want the password and would want to help add things to it!!
  10. I think with all the posting issues IAP needs to appoint someone to verify all pictures, polls, questions, etc that are posted by new members. Sure, it`ll probably make things slower, but something needs to be done! Many websites have this installed and IAP needs it as well. Members that have been on the site for a certain time can be exempt, but if you are a new member, posts should be monitored. I`m going to copy this suggestoin to Laura and if you agree you should too!! :)
