MommaOf2PinkNBlue (96.5 days ago)I am expecting my second baby which is a boy, my first child is a girl and 3 years old, I am having a baby shower for this baby since i don`t have anything for a baby anymore, all my daughters baby stuff is long gone and he's a boy anyways so there isn't much he could have used. and also no one ever threw me one for my first child (probably since i was only 17 when she was born: ( ). I`m not risking that again and i`m throwing my own with just family and a few close friends. My mother, my grandmother and best friend would all like to help. I can't wait, it will be fun, it doesn't have to be alot of people, just people that you love, i'm only going to have about 20 - 30 people there (that's including small children) I think it's fine if you never had a shower for your first, children are far apart in age, or it's a baby of another gender. But mostly I think it's great for everyone to get together with the new mom and celebrate her new bundle of joy
jenakers (97.4 days ago)I personally wouldn`t. We have a big catholic family, that always seems to have a baby on the way. If we had a shower for every baby, that is all we would do with our time and money. I do believe, however, that it is up to family and friends. If your family and friends are willing and WANT to, I don`t see why not! Every situation is different. For our family it would not work.
15yearsapart (97.4 days ago)I think it`s fine to have a second shower. My friend is throwing one for me and said that since mine are so far apart, I need the stuff again anyway. Her daughters are 15 months apart and for her second shower, they did a diaper shower.
minmoo (97.5 days ago)i had a nice little family and friends shower for my second, I really didn`t need much since it was another girl. But i am the only one in the family having babies so it is fun to have a little get together with the ones we love. But i am also not a big party girl, i just like get togethers. I think with my third if it is a boy, i might throw my husband a baby shower, just as a fun little thing.
ibaheir2dathrone (98.1 days ago)I didn`t hve one for my 1st. (new city, didn`t know many people.) My church hosted an awesome shower!! It was great. I didn`t expect it. I see Nothing wrong with getting together and celebrating the new baby.
soon2bmommaof2 (98.1 days ago)I have held 2 baby showers for 2nd children and they were both pretty much big flops! Probably 10 people tops at each one and that was including the mother and the host. And there was a 4 year difference between their first child and their second, so maybe it was too close?!?!. My sister is hosting my 2nd baby shower and there will be a 9 year difference between my first and 2nd, so we`ll see if that makes a difference!?!
