montanamamaof3 (86.3 days ago)I breastfed both of my sons but had recurrent mastitis (clogged milk ducts) all the time, as well as on a ton of antibiotics! I spent most of my time vomiting or in bed. I made it 4 moths with my first son but after my 2nd son was 2 months old, I realized I could breastfeed and be sick and not be any kind of a mother to my 2 month old and 2 year old or I could stop and take care of them and myself. I quit and I am 15 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child and I will not put myself and my family through that again, even though I do believe that if you can breastfeed, you should!

Deleteminmoo (87.5 days ago)I love breast feeding, i never had an issues with it. I figured it out pretty easily, do keep a hand breast pump on hand though, when milk first comes in, you will get filled up and the baby will be sleeping or full but you will need to get some out, but after the milk comes in, and the baby is eating it is the easiest and greatest thing. It is really unexplainable the bond that it makes between the baby and me, and it actually feels right. I love it, i never had to worry about bottles or sterilizing or mixing, i just fed the baby and it was over. I didn;t have to listen to a baby scream because it was hungry and i had to mix a bottle and i never had to get up and scrub and sterilize anything. It is easy and amazing.

Deletekater (87.8 days ago)i love breastfeeding!! i fed my daughter for 14 months, when she decided that drinking from a cup was much faster, and she could carry it around. i also had PND after i had her, and i feel that feeding her helped break the depression i felt. i had my son 6 weeks ago, and although we had a rocky start, with cracked, bleeding and blistered nipples, thrush and heaps of painful engorgement, we kept at it, and he is now nursing really well, and i am again so happy to be feeding him. i feel sad when i hear story`s of women who did not have the support they needed, and ended up stopping even though they really wanted to feed their babys.

Deletemegandgrace (88 days ago)i am having a great expirience breastfeeding, i work weekends and go to school full time during the week and pump while i am at both! it has tested my patiance but i wouldnt of done it any other way, we have created a beautiful bond with each other, not saying that it wouldn`t of happened with out breastfeeding but to me it just feels that much closer because i am nurishing her from my own body!!

Deletemommy-at-home (88.2 days ago)My second child was a good experience and had no problems. My first child was a very trying experience. I did see a lactation consultant which helped at first but then she copped an attitude with me so I stopped consulting her...she actually accused me of not wanting to breastfeed! I had been down a long breastfeeding road at that point and baby was refusing so I just gave up.

DeleteJuniper (88.3 days ago)I loved breastfeeding. I did ALOT of research before hand and really wanted to do it. It hurt alot at first but I kept at it and sure enough it got easier and I fed on demand up till about 10 months then mixed bf with food and stopped 2 weeks before his 2nd birthday. I really really loved it and the bond it created and special moments we shared because of it.
My partner was bery supportive of bf too so that helped.

Deletemamasuzy (88.3 days ago)ive been breastfeeding for 9 and a half months. the actual act of breastfeeding has been great for the most part. the challenge for me came in the form of severe food allergies that my daughter had, which put me on a very strict and limited diet. i stuck to the breastfeeding though because it helps them get over the food allergies, and sure enough she did get over them and can eat anything and everything now, and so can i!

Deleteluvbeingamom (88.3 days ago)I have been happily bf my second child for over 10 months now. I love it! He loves it! And i know i am giving him a great start! I couldn`t breast feed my older child for 2 reasons. 1. Unknown allergies (turned out to be severe dairy allergy) and 2. he didn`t want to latch on properly. I am still sad that i couldn`t with him. I would recommend to anyone to try breast feeding. if it doesn`t work then stop and go to formula but i can assure you that the extra effort is well worth it in the end! Don`t get me wrong, the first few weeks can be difficult but after you both have it down, it is SO much easier. You always have food ready for your LO!

DeleteDANNIE (88.5 days ago)I had a horrible time with breastfeeding. My son use to suck the roof of his mouth in utero, so everytime he went to latch, his tongue would get in the way, causing extreme frusrtation on his part- I went to lactation consultants (many times) and did everything they said- They had me prepump, tape on silicone nipple shields to provide more to latch on, then inject milk with a syringe into the nipple shield, juggle the baby and try to get him to latch on at the same time- it was just way too much for me to deal with and there were way too may tears to continue with it- I gave up on breastfeeding and just pumped and fed him through a bottle. Sorry for being such a downer, but many women do find breastfeeding to be much trickier than it appears- And then of course there are those women who have babies that latch on right away and have no difficulty whatsoever. Oh, and one more reason I think latching was so difficult- Because my son was small at birth the Dr`s ordered supplementation of formula and gave it to him before I even had a chance to try and breastfeed....that was not how I intended things to start off, but it happens.

DeleteMONKEYMAMMA (88.5 days ago)Everything was great until I had to go back to work. Trying to fit in pumping and eating right while doing my job wasn`t working to well. So I started supplementing with formula during the day and breastfeeding the rest of the time. Then my milk started depleating so now it`s just formula. He got 2 months worth at least!
