~amy~ (1258 days ago) I will be using a half a ring looking thing that goes in front of the baby`s head. It`s a pillowy thing that just sticks in front of their neck and keeps their head from bobbing forward.
CassandraLee (1259 days ago) The nurse at the hospital when I left took it out and rolled up receiving blankets to put on each side of baby. Some of the head support are very thick and if babies head moves onto the think rims of the head support that CAN push their head forward. If you were in an accident and babies head was in an awkward position there could be serious damage done. Its like with most of the no-no`s, they`re not likely to cause damage but could if the situation changed
jenny504 (1259 days ago) My mother in law makes them for a living, they have a padding zip up thingy and then the head support and for both of my boys the nurses said they didn`t recommend them b/c of saftely issues. It is not really safety issues it is liability issues. That is why they say if it doesn`t come with it don`t use it b/c the company that made the carseat is not liable for other products that do not come with the carseat. I agree a receiving blanket sounds like a suffocation issue to me, how can that be safe. I could go on and on about this issue b/c i think it is dumb considering my mother inlaws products are safety regulated, i am in canada by the way, and she wouldn`t be able to sell them otherwise, but people are always commenting on her product about the `safety issues` and they are safe.
emy (1259.1 days ago) Ours had two supports on the side but the back part, was paper thing, not sure how it would make the baby`s head push forward. We used ours until about 6 months
jensay (1259.1 days ago) i had a nurse look at my car seat and it had a head support and she was really happy it had one cause my baby was born early & small...
She said it was good to use more head support. The the head support didn`t bring his head forward at all just hugged it
