i dont give daily baths,,, sometimes every other day! I go day by day if the baby needs a bath couple days in a row thats alright... hes now eating & making a mess and hes getting more baths.. sometimes when me or my husband have a shower we bring him in for a minute for a quick clean off... hes 10 months

My children get baths every other day unless they are super dirty. sometimes i will let the play in the water at least once a day but I don`t use soap on them unless i need to scrub dirt off. I only wash there hair every other day. My one daughter has dry skin and a condition known as Keratosis Pilaris (little bumps that are not red or itchy, just a build up of extra keratin due to dry skin) So i will not use any soap on her at all because it makes it worse, water does the job.

i believe your supposed to wait until they are atleast several months old if not longer. If i remember correctly i bathed my son everyday at around a year old..and thats only cause he was getting so dirty everyday playing...

I agree, bathe them every other to every three days, and washing dirty areas everyday with a wash cloth or sponge...too many baths aren`t necessary and will dry skin out.

I have always bathed her everyday. At first just sponge baths and when her belly button fell off it was in her tub. It is part of our routine and I think it is necessary. She LOVES her baths too so it is something fun to do. I use a Johnsons soap with moisture and haven`t had any problems.

i have kept with a routine of bathing her every other morning because at a couple weeks old i noticed that she had serve dry skin so i switch soaps and bathed her every other day. now she has beautiful baby skin but i am worried come winter it may get dry again!

Not til at least a year old or more and like Cassandralee said, not til they are into things. I bath daily when we are out and he gets dirty or camping etc etc and needs to be cleaned but if we have been home I dont, no need to, unhealthy for the skin but thats just me :)

I personally think that a bath helps transition from day to night like a ritual. You dont have to use soap. I am not sure what I will do with this baby though. it depends on how much he needs a bath and whether i can be bothered every day. But i envision it being a part of daily life. When my kids were little I used to give them to daddy while he was in the shower

With my son, from his first ever bath I have bathed him every evening. I would do one day with soap, the next day with just water, and the day after that with soap, and so on. Especially since he spent his infant days in the summer by the end of the day he stunk. I think everyday is fine, it helps them sleep better too!, just not soap everyday.

even at that point daily baths arent` nec. wipes downs are great but all that on the skin is no good you need to keep some body oils in there too

In the book WHAT TO EXPECT THE FIRST YEAR it says that daily baths aren`t necessary until the baby is more mobile and therefore getting more dirty. So, just as CassandraLee said, not until baby is crawling and able to get into things

My understanding was that its not necessary to bath them daily until they are crawling and getting into things. I never bathed my newborn everyday. Its not necessary and will dry their skin out.Not to mention, they prefer to be kept constantly warm instead of in and out of water eveyday
