We have a program in our area called `Healthy Families of Pinellas County` - they are affiliated with the local health department and people can sign up for it through their OBGYN office. Your area might have a similar program through your health department. You have to enroll here before your baby is 3 months old and they will assist you until your child is up to 5 years old. They do weekly visits to the house for the first year then it becomes bi-weekly or even monthly. When I first joined the program, they helped me get WIC (which I am no longer eligible for either, but was in the beginning) - the woman who did home visits with me would bring me free formula before I got on WIC. I would definitely encourage you to reach out to your local health department and see what they say. Just tell them your situation and maybe they can set you up with a similar program in your area or even assist you in getting some formula for free or at a discounted amount. It`s tough and it adds up really fast. I know. Been there. Good luck.

Try ebay- there are some cans of formula for sale (sealed) and sometimes you can find coupons too.

  5. To all the Co-sleeping mama`s out there~I need some help. My daughter is 11 months old and still sleeping with me. I love her being there but she really needs to be in her crib now. What are some good ways to make the transition smoother? I don`t want to let her cry it out, but I will if I have no choice. I`ve tried putting her in her crib and she wakes up almost immediatly and cries. Is CIO the only way?
