coltonsmom (70.8 days ago)We have a program in our area called `Healthy Families of Pinellas County` - they are affiliated with the local health department and people can sign up for it through their OBGYN office. Your area might have a similar program through your health department. You have to enroll here before your baby is 3 months old and they will assist you until your child is up to 5 years old. They do weekly visits to the house for the first year then it becomes bi-weekly or even monthly. When I first joined the program, they helped me get WIC (which I am no longer eligible for either, but was in the beginning) - the woman who did home visits with me would bring me free formula before I got on WIC. I would definitely encourage you to reach out to your local health department and see what they say. Just tell them your situation and maybe they can set you up with a similar program in your area or even assist you in getting some formula for free or at a discounted amount. It`s tough and it adds up really fast. I know. Been there. Good luck.
