Erin A (1250.4 days ago) my son started this year at age 3 (where he goes everyday and i leave him) other wise he started going to a special school to get help with speech delays one day a week with me.
kimmarie (1250.5 days ago) Because I am a single mommy that needed to work full time, my son started out at 1.5. He absolutely loved going to school. He was excited cause he got to play with many other children and different toys other than his own. Fortunately it worked out well for us. To this day, he still loves school and he is now 8 years old.
bbcoop (1250.5 days ago) Start them when you want, just make sure they are getting the basics from you...In the midwest, to go to Kindergarten, the kids must be able to write/spell their name, say/write the whole abc`s, count to 20, recognize numbers 0-20...maybe a few other things I`m leaving out, but I am certified to teach Kindergarten or lower, most of the kids I have taught were mostly there to get the socialization and interaction, they already had learned all that and more from mom and dad!
Austin::and::Alexs::Momma (1250.5 days ago) In my area we have a local preschool (out of pocket) that has a `nursery` class (2 days a week for like 2 hours per day) where they begin to work with them on their basic stuff like ABC`s, colors, numbers, shapes and they can attend that at age 3. Then they have a pre-kindergarten class (out of pocket) (3 days a week for 3 hours per day) for ages 4 & 5. Then we start kindergarten at age 5 (if birthday is before Sept., 1st.) or 6 (your choice) and in our area its a full school day (7 hours per day 5days a week). But also in our area we have goverment ran program thats called headstart, that is free for low income familes, I know they have programs where they begin at like 2 or 3 years of age and they come to your home and teach your child like twice a month. Then that program also has little schools for ages 4 & 5 which the children attend for like 4 hours a day 4 days a week.
babyboo06 (1250.6 days ago) I will send my baby to pre-k when he`s 4 years old. Here you have to be at least 4 to start.
hotpotaaaaato (1250.6 days ago) We`re planning on sending our daughter to pre-school when she`s 3.5
Alise (1250.6 days ago) i think 2.5 is a little early. i started at 5 or 6 i think. when our baby gets around the age of 4 i think i might enroll him into pre school. just so he can start learning a little more. i plan on doing what my mom did with us, and start teaching them their alphabet, numbers, and maybe a little bit how to read as young as possible.
