femi (1235.6 days ago) i find that my BF baby`s burps come out easier and mostly on their own compared to when i supplement with formula, but i always burp her when she finishes BFing.
Just♥Mommy (1236.2 days ago) I just attended my 2nd breastfeeding class this past Thursday with my husband and we asked the LC about that and she said that most to all of breastfed babies do not need to be burped, but once in a while if you`ve eaten something that causes a gasses baby, they will need to be burped here and there. But mainly, no you do not need to burp a breastfed baby. Good luck!
cadesmommy (1236.3 days ago) I was told at the hospital not to burp but I agree with Carla that my baby needed to be burped. Now he is eleven months old and we dont anymore but we def did the first few months.
STCT (1236.5 days ago) Was told they really don`t need to be but, I still burp my little girl and once in a while she`ll get one out. So yes, I burp her everytime.
carla81 (1236.7 days ago) I was also told that breast fed babies don`t need burping - sorry, but in my case I found that to be completely wrong. I always got burps up and if I didn`t burp him he`d bad wind pain. I think he was about 4 months when I didn`t have to burp him so much. Perhaps it just depends on the baby?
KarenVG (1237.1 days ago) It can vary, if they seem to be drinking in gulps they probably will need to be. one of mine never did the other did.
I would sit them up and just give them a gentle back rub and see , but not worry if nothing comes...
