my pet peeve is baby talk. i hate it!! why confuse your child and tell them the wrong names for things -bot bot for bottle, boo boo for cut ect. then they have to learn half the language all over again!! how must the child feel, if they have just got talking down pat, then they are told `no, its all wrong, youll have to use a whole new set of words in order to express yourself.....` i copy the sounds my 2 month old makes, to encourage him, but i dont use `baby words` to describe things

I think it just annoys me but my in laws sit in front of my 2 month old a talk baby talk NON STOP. Its so annoying to me they just sit right in front of his face and go BABABABABABGOOOGOOOOOGOOOOO I have to leave the room because it seriously drives me nuts. I cannot freakin stand it. I feel bad for my son lol

I have known 2 kids with and with out the baby talk. The one with is 2 years old and talks like a baby, the 3 yr old`s parents stopped talking to her like a baby at 1 and she is very advanced in her maturity an vocab. I think it depends on the kid too, but when my son turns 1 I am going to try and limit the babble

I think baby taLK IS OK TO A CERTAIN AGE.. oNce they reach 2 i think spekaking normally should happen.
