OneSharpeFamily (47.7 days ago)ArmyMom thats crazy because I`m in the AF and HAD to get the flu shot it was mandatory. The only difference is non-pregnant=flu mist, pregnant= flu shot. The shot doesn`t have a live virus and you can not get sick from it.
Edit
Deletebr1234 (48.1 days ago)i work at a hospital and know of too many people getting sick bc of the flu shot. i have seen far less come into the ER for the actual flu.
Edit
Deleteemy (48.1 days ago)I got it once before and ended up hospitalized. I got the worst virus ever! Dh carried me over his shoulder into the hospital. I lost 18 pounds and waited until day 3 to go to the ER. I did not get it when I was pregnant and due to my reaction, my son prob. will never have it either. I do know that it is suggested though.
Edit
DeleteArmyMom2b (48.2 days ago)I`ve been told it`s good to get the flu shot for the same reasons Lisareader said. However, I`m in the Army and they refuse to give me any shots until after the pregnancy so I guess that really doesn`t help you.
Edit
Deletelisareader (48.3 days ago)I got it last year when I was pregnant and in my third trimester. The reason pregnant women are encouraged to get it is because flu hits pregnant women much harder than people who aren`t, and it can cause harm to the fetus if you do get it. The vaccine isn`t foolproof but it`s better than nothing.
Edit
DeleteNicolePS (48.3 days ago)At first I didn`t think we were able to but that is only if you are in your first trimester. It is they want you to get it if you are in your 2nd or 3rd and will be pregnant in the flu season.
