peanpod (34.6 days ago)I get 6 weeks plus 1 week of vacation. I am also taking 30 days unpaid leave. I am saving to recoup that money I would normally be making for that 30 days if I was working. That would be about 3 months off. If I were you I would start saving your money. Even if it is $20 here or $50 here. Save what you can.
Krystal (37.4 days ago)I got 6 weeks paid.
tatianamommy08 (38.2 days ago)You need aat least 6 weeks for your body to heal before you `should` go back. I went back after 7 weeks. I worked for 1 full week then put in my 2 weeks notice. I`m a SAHM now! You`d be surprised how much you can afford it if you factor in all of the cost you save by NOT working (gas, food, daycare, ect...)
STCT (38.3 days ago)I`ll be going back when my little girl is three months.
CassandraLee (38.3 days ago)I took the FMLA 12 weeks.I received short term diability checks for 8 weeks (because of c-section). The remainder of the 12 weeks I wasnt paid. I only went back to work for 3 months after that. Couldnt afford daycare and hated being away from baby.
Julia R (38.3 days ago)I was only afforded 6 weeks by my employer...I feel it was way too early but I had to pay the bills
dc_finest82 (38.4 days ago)i wasn`t completely in the same situation but my job put me on short term disability after i had my daughter. i worked up until the weekend i had her which most women will tell you how unconfortable it gets at the end. i worked a part time job also up until the weekend i had her as well. although i work a gov`t job, i am a gov`t contractor so the benefits differ a little when it comes to maternity leave eventho i get paid holidays off. but i was only getting paid a small percentage of my pay which equaled to 200 a week which is not hardly enough and i was seriously stressed during that time after i had her. but after you have a baby you have to take that time to bond and get your self together. i had a c-section so i automatically took 8 weeks which yea it hurt my bills but i had to do it. i cried when the doc said c-section because it takes longer to heal then a vaginal. just talk to the people you need to talk to ahead of time before you have the baby so that they will know the situation for when you do go on maternity leave.
baby-momma09 (38.5 days ago)omg im in the same sitation. i get paid weekly. and i have 1 wk of vacation saved. but i still haven`t talked to my boss about maternity leave. the baby is due about the time my income tax check should be coming in. so me and the bf are def. depending on that. we`ll use 1 check for bills and the other for whatever we need for the baby. but i think im only gonna take a month off. depending what kind of agreement i come to with my boss (not the staffing agency)
tamii (38.5 days ago)i would check w/ your temp agency just to double check if you would have any paid leave by the time the baby arrives. i worked for a staffing agency for over a year, and i although i never needed maternity leave while i worked for them, i did have access to short term disability pay (which included maternity leave) once i was with them for a year. i am taking 6wks leave this time because it is paid. with my first i had zero paid maternity leave and i took 4 weeks.
lilmissk (38.5 days ago)Yeah I figured it would be like this. I have been with them, and in the exact same postition since May 22, 2007, but I don`t get holiday or vacation pay yet. I am full-time though (40 hours/week) so I hate that! Anyway, I just don`t want to have to go back less than 6 weeks after the baby is born. I might have to though if my boyfriend isn`t financially helping. :(
AChance2Dream (38.5 days ago)With most temp agencies you do not get any paid time off unless you get vacation time. I would call and talk to someone. Because I haven`t been with my company for a year yet I do not get ANY paid time or vacation time, so anything I take off I will not get paid for. But I am planning on 8 weeks even though I can take up to 12 just because of finances...Grrr stupid bills!
monkeymamma (38.5 days ago)I was only taking 6 weeks off, but I ended up having a c-section so I had to take 8 weeks. (but I did have some paid time off and used some vacation days)
