kim (1213.6 days ago) i buy...i read the ingredients and make sure the food is listed first..and not water.
Andrea1222 (1213.7 days ago) i did both. I just bought all fresh fruits and veggies and with my magic bullet I would puree it and put it in the freezer. I steamed or cooked some of the fruits or veggies to bring the flavor out more and make them easier to puree. My son loved it better than the store bought. its great!
RobinG (1213.8 days ago) I did both :) Best adivce is go organic, you will be giving your baby the best there is :) Earths Best organic if bought in a regular grocery store is cheaper or same price as regular where I live. If it is more only a small amount. And so much healthier!
lovefranky (1214.1 days ago) i use both. i use a blender to make purees and i freeze them in ice cube trays and then put them in zip lock bags. I buy canned veggies and fruit that are salt free and that do not have added sugar and i use those sometimes or i steam fruits or veggies and then puree them. I make him whole grain noodels or brown rice almost every and some days i give him toast with butter. my baby eats different gerber baby cereal every morning and some fruit either mixed in or seperate. I make meat purees too and keep them in the fridge for 2-3 days at a time. I also bake fish for my little guy about once or twice a week and give it to him with steamed carrots and rice. I bought a cook book for baby/toddler/kids and it gives me ideas that are helpful. you can put anything in the blender with some liquid and puree it for dinner.
Kevinsmilfx2 (1214.1 days ago) I don`t have a food processor to make my own. *I wish* Maybe Santa Husband will get me one for X-mas! For now I just buy organic baby food. It`s less than 50 cents a jar which isn`t too bad. The only thing I don`t buy jarred is bananas. I mash those up fresh for my LO.
lisareader (1214.2 days ago) I make my own - it`s cheap and easy. The website http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com was very helpful. I would make large batches and freeze it - don`t be afraid to get adventurous! P.S. Those baby food mills are totally unnecessary - a regular food processor works just fine.
cadesmommy (1214.2 days ago) The only time I used store bought was when we went out somewhere. I loved making my son`s food.
tamii (1214.2 days ago) i make my own, but not as in jarring it an everything. i tried store bought jar food w/ my first and just felt like i was wasting money. she would eat most of whatever we would be eating, i would just mash it up for her. obviously i wasn`t feeding her steak or anything, but the veggies and fruit were always super easy to puree. it was more cost effective and didn`t have all the preservatives.
