I think having flowers would be nice. Only because you have have them sent or give them to her and it just lets her know you are thinking of her without going through it again.

My friend at work lost her husband on the Fourth of July and I felt that her loss always got swept under the rug while everyone was planning all their fourth of july fun at the office.. so I got her a card, her favorite flower, and gave her a big hug. I did it at the end of the day a few minutes before she left. She told that she really appriciated it because it seemed like no one wanted to mention the death to her.. she wanted people to remember too! I think it`s a great idea for you do give it to her personally and do it at the end of the day. Thank you for caring for this friend!!
