1sttimemom25 (1203.7 days ago) I am not sure how you can tell that a baby is lactose intolerant. However, breast milk also has lactose in it and many times babies do not react to it as much as formula. I would assume if your child is reacting to formula with any spit up or bowel issue take them off of it. When I was an infant I actually had an allergy to the caseine protein in milk. The composition of cows milk just turned me inside and out. I lost a good percentage of my skin because of the raw rashes. My mom said it was the worst. She eventually put me back on the breast and then on soy for seven years. I am now able to drink cows diary but every once in awhile I will have an allergic reaction. I suggest just taking them off completely and sticking with soy and if possible exclusive breast. At least until you dry out or can not pump or feed any longer. I say exclusive because I have heard of infants having trouble digesting two different types of food. And it can be common when women have to supplement with formula. I hope you get a solution soon. shayes (1203.7 days ago) Both of my kids could not keep regular formula down and had diarrhea all the time. Once we switched them to soy formula they were great and now they drink all the milk that they want and eat anything...but they were really sensitive to it until about a year old. EditDelete
