Erin A (1191.7 days ago) i took a shower within about an hour of birth (due to my legs being week from epidural). Of course a nurse had to still watch due to leg strength.
Juniper (1192 days ago) I`m asking because both my doctor and midwife told me to wait a month before taking a bath in case of infection. But I was sure I`d read of lots of women taking baths soon after birth so I wanted to see what everyone had to say... I decided to have one today (10 days post partum) and it was bliss!!
avenue (1192.1 days ago) i had one within 20 minutes, after birth, why wouldnt you have a bath?
megandgrace (1192.7 days ago) i took a shower later that evening in the hospital, but about 2 weeks after we got home to take a bath. i waited till i asked my doctor at the 2 week pp check up. it was really relaxing but hard to look at my saggy belly!!!!
cadesmommy (1192.8 days ago) They made me take a bath in the hospital (in front of the nurse= great fun) before I could have visitors.
STCT (1192.9 days ago) My Dr said I didn`t need to wait. Just needed to make sure my tub way really clean. Soaking in a tub also helps sooth a episiotomy.
weeblette (1192.9 days ago) I haven`t had one yet!! 11 months 1 week post birth....
monkeymamma (1192.9 days ago) I`m trying to think about that...I really don`t think I have yet, and he`s almost 6 months!
coltonsmom (1192.9 days ago) Within 24 hours for me. Both babies had baths shortly after birth... but they were with a wash cloth and stayed that way daily. As for an actual bath for the babies, it was after their belly buttons fell off... and then it became part of a routine.
