kt08dec88 (1186.6 days ago) I dont have heath care... so in the beginning of my pregnancy, up to about 34 weeks, i paid all my doctors visits, which was somewhere around 2000, until i realized that i could qualify for medicaid...which is awesome... I need to call them tho, because i have gestational diebetes, and while they cover most of the cost, i really thought they would have covered all of it and i just a got a bill for 700 for all the visits and biophysical profile i got with the gestational diabetes councelor. However, to my knowledge, medicaid will cover everything with the hospital bill, except for the circumsision. Which makes me happy =). It really does suck to have to worry about medical expenses when you are pregnant, it should be a thing you can enjoy without all the stress... believe me i had alot of stress almost through my whole pregnancy due to it, and feel much better now. Anyways to answer you question a little better, i do know that for people with health insurance throught there job, or self paid insurance in the united states, i know alot of insurances pay more of the doctor visits then they do the hospital stay... My sister in laws covered all doctor visits and none of her hospital stay. She signed up for a medical card that said it can reduce your bill 60%... called maternity advantage... and well it was a scam, and i hope nobody else is trying it either, they have alot of fraud reported if you google it... Sorry this is so long, good luck! =)
3blessings (1186.6 days ago) my hubby has really great insurance that paid 100% of everything. My hospital bill was something like $18,000. I`m not sure how it is in other countries, but of the people who don`t have insurance and go to the hospital, a lot don`t work to pay any of their bill...so when you go to the hospital for treatment a stinkin band-aid is like a $5.00 charge. So to full answer the question....we paid nothing for our pregnancy but with the taxes we pay, we pay for everyone elses who doesn`t have insurance!
unconditionallove (1186.9 days ago) it must be really hard not having free health care.. I have had 6 heart surgeries, 2 other surgeries and a baby... i cannot imagine if i had to pay for any of that... i dont know how i would have afforded it...
your all lucky you have insurance
busymommyof3 (1186.9 days ago) My Hubbys Insurance covers it 100%, no copay.I paid nothing , no copay for my sons circum. either. I got the `copy` of the bill and it cost 15K for everything. WOW!! Thank God for my insurance. Out here in the USA there are alot of programs that will cover you for free if you are pregnant. You do have to qualify though.Mostly income wise but some programs have different Req. Most people w/ insurance though usually have a copay depends on your company and what plan you pick. I hope I answered your ??? =)
ibaheir2dathrone (1187 days ago) We had to pay our first Dr. visit co-pay. ($35.00 because he is a Peri, special ob) then We will have a 500 dollar deductible for the year. They pay everything else. This is through my hubby`s job.
RobinG (1187 days ago) I have insurance through hubbies work. We pay 20% or more of the charged amount plus any the insurance doesnt cover. My out of pocket for various things related to delivery was about $500. His enrollment charge comes right out of his paycheck.
sadielady (1187 days ago) i had private insurance with my first and it covered everything. i usually had to pay $10 for doctors visits but for anything pregnancy related i didnt even pay that. it payed for everything at the hospital as well,, i even had a private room that i requested and an epidural. i had state insurance with this pregnancy and it covred everything as well
cadesmommy (1187.1 days ago) My insurance covered 100% of my son`s birth and all my appts-seriously I paid nothing. We only paid 30 dollars because he was circumcised and that was it. I also had an epidural and I had a choice if I wanted to stay in the hospital longer than I stayed because my insurance would of paid it. (We have insurance through my hubby`s job) We honestly have some of the BEST insurance you can imagine and we only pay 150 dollars a month for a family plan(dental, eye and health) because my hubby`s work pays so much of it. We are a few of the fortunate ones because hubby works for such a great company. Hubby can never leave his job :)
