nikkiekck (1183.6 days ago) ohh a pacifier! some kids dont do it but i agree try different shapes and if not thats okay just one less thing to break habbit of later.
jessberr31 (1183.6 days ago) I agree with feb2009. None of my three have ever sucked one. Just only when they were new newborns, and not very often. The hospital I deliver at has even stopped giving them to newborns and if you want your baby to have one you have to bring your own. Its not really good when your 3/4 year old is walking around with a pacy stuck in their mouth because you can`t break them from it. If your baby doesn`t want it thats a good thing.
feb2009 (1183.7 days ago) Just curious why do you wnat your child to have one? To me it`s just a habit to break later.
carla81 (1183.7 days ago) lmao - that`s so funny Hexe, sorry I`m not laughing in a rude way. Not sure why we Aussies call it a `dummy` though! mumsy, my son started taking his dummy at about 5 months old. I had a lot of trouble getting him to sleep at night so I went to a daystay sleep clinic and the nurse said to encourage my son to use a dummy for sleep time. I wrapped him tight so that his arms and legs couldn`t get out, put the dummy in and held it there, I would stroke his face, gently pat him and he got used to it pretty quick and so always would want his dummy just for slepe time. He`s now 13 months old and if he`s getting tired he`ll go and find one of his dummyies on his own and put it in. So if you persist then he he may take it. Al the best.
lindz (1183.8 days ago) some take them and some dont.. my nephew is 2 1/2 now.. but her NEVER took one.. so.. dont worry a habit u wont have to beak later.. I also think my daughter is following his footsteps.. she is a lil over 2 months and wont take one.. she is more content sucking and slobbering on her fist and fingers than a passy..
busymommyof3 (1184 days ago) I have been trying to get my son to use it for 11 wks now. No luck!!=(
Hexe (1184 days ago) Well, I`m not sure what you are talking about when you say a dummy...Are you meaning a ventrilaquist dummy? I have one of those buy none of my kids ever paid it any mind...
