googie32 (1162.4 days ago) lol that sucks...I hate when ppl do that...there really isn`t anything you can do except maybe hope and pray she has a girl lol
MichelleMc(pink!) (1162.6 days ago) I don`t think it`s any big deal if your child and theirs have the same name. My brother and cousin are both named Anthony (born a month apart!), and it has never been any big deal at all. Your SIL may have a girl, anyway. :)
MoNtRiCe8488 (1162.8 days ago) I say use the name. Its your child and since they are cousins they really won`t know. It`ll be fine if both of you use Jack (you`ll wither have different first names or middle names)
MelissaJoanne (1162.9 days ago) I have to agree with jenakers. Plus, it`s an incredibly popular name, not something rare and unique that you could take credit for coming up with. So unfortunately if she has a boy first, she gets the name. If you still love the name, use it anyway.
jenakers (1163 days ago) You`re screwed...she got pregnant first. Whoever has a baby first, wins. My sister in law and I consider it, law of the jungle.
scruz (1163 days ago) My husband and I chose the name Natalia, once we found out it was another girl, a friend of his had their girl first and used the name, so he wanted to switch. I spent forever trying to find another name, the week before my daughter was born we decided on Madelyn and he when he told his sister the name we chose, she said that was the name she was using, she is due in March. I was really upset that we had less than a week to find a name. My husband cane up with Santana last minute and I agreed, I thought it sounded ok. But, now that my daughter is 2 weeks old, her name just doesn`t fit, I really hate it and regret not using Natalia, I really don`t care if someone else has the name. Funny thing is my husband picked the name and he doesn`t like it either. We are seriously considering a name change for her. Stick with the name you like.
Mama J (1163 days ago) Well just think he won`t be sharing the name Jack with just his cousin... right now that is so popular!! Maybe by the time the boy comes you may change your mind.. I was in the same boat with my sil. and the name Dylan... well I chose Austin instead... didn`t really matter cuz they haven`t seen each other since they were two or so... but yea I wouldn`t worry... Jack is popular in the family and out.. lol
sweetnsmokin (1163 days ago) ok, this is pretty confusing, but ill try to keep it from being too insane. my moms-sisters-ex husbands-sister (my cousins cousin.... that was easier than i figured....) had a baby girl in the same hospital the same day I was born. I was born at 9:17 a.m. and she was born at 10:18 a.m. My name is Kandace Lee, and hers is Candis Leigh. There was a big fuss between the families, but in the end we never even knew each other. Im thinkin it had somethin to do with the feud and the fact that the others became ex`s before we were 2. Our mutual cousin thought it was just fantastic to have 2 cousins with the same name! One of my friends used my sons name in her sons name, and I was honored. 2 of my friends are named Jefferson and Jeffrey, and they are best friends, I call them big jeff and lil jeff. It helps that one is 6`4` and the other is 5`6`, but either way, dont stress too much over it. If it does so happen that you both have boys and you are both still stuck on Jack, with the age/size diff you may end up doing the big jack/lil jack thing, or even just using initials. There are soooo many variations that can be applied to names that just because they are both jack they may not both stay `just jack`. Heck, my daughters name is Kayliana and since she was about 7 months old we have called her bean. Shes almost 8 and even her teacher and class mates call her bean. its quite funny! If you really like the name, use it! you never know what it`ll turn into.
carla81 (1163.1 days ago) Hopefully she`ll have a girl and it won`t even matter. When I was pregnant I had a name picked out for a girl Mia - we`ll still use it if our next baby is a girl. But my cousin was pregnant at the same time as me and she knew I loved that name, but half way through her pregnancy she said that if they had a girl they`d call her Mia - I was worried and upset because I want my daughter (if I have one) to be called that. In the end it didn`t matter cos we both had boys. But looking back it`s so silly, we all have the right to name our babies what we want and it`s first in, best dressed. When I thought I might not be able to have that name I started really looking and after ages a coupe other names I really liked popped up in my mind. Besides, you may have a girl! Try not to worry, it`s only a name and there are loads of beautiful names out there!
EmmaReed84 (1163.1 days ago) Talk to her and explain to her that you wanted that name and its the only name that you wanted....Don`t get into a massive argument about it. I had a similar thing when i was pregnant, before i found out what i was having i said about having the name Chloe if i had a girl and my SIL said she liked that name too. But we both ended up having boys lol so it didnt matter.
If she does take the name jack then there is not a lot you can do about it, ignoring her woont change the fact she called him jack, just think of another name and dont let it become a huge feud.
