Lookalike (1154.5 days ago) I live in a 3br 1bath 1300sqft house that was built in the late 40`s with NO insulation in the walls or the ceiling. We conserve as much as possible, using heavy comforters in the winter and running two fans in the summer and open windows etc. Our flex pay bill every month is $161.
~amy~ (1154.5 days ago) I live in Florida in a two story 2bed/2bath larger townhome and keep the a/c at around 70. It costs about $150 for electric during the summer and a little under $100 during the winter (we hardly ever run the heat). Our previous house (3bed/2bath concrete home) ran around $200 for electric/water. But our first apartment we paid over $300 for just electric for a teeny tiny 500 square foot studio. Guess it just depends where you live!
jcurran23 (1154.6 days ago) We live in a 2 story house and our electric is only about $50 a month, but we have propane heat which is terrible runs about $600 a month.

missyv28 (pink) (1154.6 days ago) we live in 2100 sq ft, 4 bdrm house. We have no gas all electric. With no heat or AC it`s about $90 a month. With heat its about $150 and with AC during summer it`s usually over $200. I`m in Arizona USA!
sweetnsmokin (1154.7 days ago) my house is big and old. (3800 sq. ft. and 33-34 years old) we dont use the gas heat as it runs about $300/month to keep it at 67. the elec with no a/c running is about $250-270/month. we use a plug in radiator at each end of the house when its cold, and have the fire place blazing and it stays about 77 thru the winter. this is the first year weve done it this way, and im so thankful, we have $ for xmas this year!!!! after this winter were starting serious renovations, trying to make things more energy efficent. were cutting out the a/c and switching the heat to elec, and putting in a ton of windows. knocking down some walls to help with the cross breezes. hopefully we wont need the a/c next summer!
arkansastechmommy (1154.7 days ago) I live in a 3bdrm house, our thermometer is NEVER set the same, me & my hot flashes.. lol, I adjust it quite often!! Anyway, it runs usually around $100/month sometimes $110/month depending....
We do not have gas, we are all electric, so we don`t have to worry about that...thank goodness!
KarenBG (1154.9 days ago) we just moved so I don`t know what the bill is, but at our last place the gas was really high and it turned out that some duct work had not been well insulated and we learned the hard way that we had been heating the attic!
Chaos (1155 days ago) I live in a 4 bed/3 bath home (1800 sq feet). We have the heat set at 68 and our gas bill is about $50 and our electric bill is about $100 for 3 months.
busymommyof3 (1155 days ago) I live in a 3 bed/3bath 2story 1700 sq ft house and my pge for gas a elec. is only 90-100 per month. I keep the temp @ 65. during day I usually dont need to turn up . If i cook it heats the house. The heat rises up stairs but the down stairs is cold but thats what zippered jammies for.=) I also wanted to add I live in a new house that has been insulated well and is engery eff. All lights are engery saving bulbs. The light have timers/ sensors which will turn off in 5 mins. You may want to call pge and ask them why your bill is so high. they will help you `solve` the issue. when we live in an duplex the a/c was on non stop in the summer and the bill was 300.00. The a/c need to be recharged. So we asked the landlord and he had it fixed and the bill went way down.
