I knew a Puerto Rican girl named Taryn - she`s prob. 30 now. Never had a boy.. or girl named Taren in all my 13 years of teaching elem. school Art (I have the whole school so that`s hundreds and hundreds of kids over the years). I like the fact that it`s not so common. I can see some people thinking it comes from Terrence, which is rather African American, or getting mixed up and thinking it`s Darren, but that`s no big thing really.

I`m Taryn and I love my name- hated as a kid cause no one knew how to say it, now no problems. Don`t know about a boy though....

My brother in law`s name is Terean....So is is son, so I like it for a boy-
