My dr has always told me to let them eat until they are full, they will tell you when they are full. So personally it seems about right to me, that`s what all mine took that would bf and they were always considered under weight.

I dont really know either cause I`m BFing but when I make my son a bottle he`ll take 4-5oz. He`s 12 weeks old. 6oz seems like a normal amount though from what I read on the forums.

For comparision, my 7 1/2 month old drinks that amount (along with food) since about 4 months.
