aprilraine (1132.6 days ago) I`m surprised at how much useful information there is on the internet about breastfeeding but I think alot of people (I SAID ALOT, NOT ALL) use the misinformation because it gives them a way out of breastfeeding without feeling so bad, like `oh, I HAD to suppliment, I wasn`t producing enough, and had to switch to formula` instead of latching their babies on and making themselves produce more. Even the hospital I delivered at the nurses pretty much laughed at me when I told them I was going to BF, and had me in tears telling me I was doing it wrong and wasn`t feeding her enough, until I saw a LC and she said I was doing everything properly, she didn`t even lose any weight before we brought her home. There is always new information coming out about BF too, and I think nurses, drs, LC`s, and midwives should keep themselves updated on everything as well, there`s always learning to do!
lisareader (1133.5 days ago) As someone who nursed my son exclusively for his first year, I am always shocked about how uninformed women are about nursing - it`s truly unbelievable (especially because, as you say, there are wonderful books and websites available very easily to pretty much anyone who cares to look).
LKLmama (1133.6 days ago) kateleigh.. I am just curious.. not that long ago you responded to a poll saying something along the lines of `even if I could have breastfed I probably still use formula` So have you changed your mind?
busymommyof3 (1134.1 days ago) Well I find it shocking how misinformed people are about alot of things, not just BF. Especially the people that think they know everything about everything!
luvbeingamom (1134.1 days ago) I am actually shocked at how mis-informed/un-informed about a lot of things. Car safety is my biggest thing. I am a bit crazy about car seats and carseat safety and it drives me crazy to be going down the road and see children not buckled in, or young children in the front seat of a car. It drives me nuts! Sad part about the carseat things, it is confusing when you read about a lot of it. B/c you have the regulations that are out there and what is recommended and it is 2 totally different things. Nursing is another thing. I am not only shocked at the info/lack of info but the complete lack of support that people have for bf moms!
