My little man has played with it since he was 3 months and still loves it at almost 8 months. My best friend`s little girl is 13 months and she still loves to play with it too! It is definitely gender neutral and has lots of things that make different sounds. You can also get the chimes (purchase separately at http://www.amazon.com/Tiny-Love-Wind-Chimes-Ocean/dp/B00081QMXA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1231891785&sr=1-1) and they are GREAT! I have never regretted this purchase for a second! FYI, it comes with a musical mirror that is really cute, but it is NOT washable! I tried and ruined it! (My friend`s daughter peed on it! LOL)

Tough choice! I like the fact that the second one folds up into a little `play` yard. I think they would both be great. You made me want both and I wasn`t looking at either yet!
