Lookalike (1125.7 days ago) My deadbeat father had a visectomy before he left my mother and then a few years later he mail ordered a russian bride and had a reversal. I think he made a mistake getting the reversal, I feel sorry for my half brother that he has to have that wanker for a dad plus he was old when he got the visectomy and then even older when he got it reversed so he`s probably going to be like seventy when my brother graduates college. But that`s my issue. My husband intends to get a visectomy when we have two children or our boy, whichever comes first. I think it`s a good idea because it`s an out patient procedure for him and easy healing, whereas, for you it will be in patient and a terrible ordeal. It`s just an opinion but I think that if a man really loves you, he won`t make you go through the tubal. As far as not having enough children, I think two or three is plenty, any more is going to make you pull out your hair. I don`t know how my grandmother did it with eight kids! That`s a difficult issue because once you have your fourth or fifth, or sixth, etc. you`d never want to give them back or anything so what can I say, it`s a personal choice.
lovemyfamily (1126.9 days ago) My hubby didn`t have it done, but his brother did, at 24. He regrets it so badly and they are now trying to save up the few grand it costs to reverse it. People change their minds later on down the road. Sometimes even the reversal doesn`t work, if not they will be heartbroken. I`m not advocating against it, I think it`s a great procedure, just make sure it`s what you want now, and will still want 5, 10 years down the road.
luvbeingamom (1126.9 days ago) Oh and they were 36 and 38 respectively.
luvbeingamom (1126.9 days ago) My DH hasn`t had one but will be when we are done having children. Though a couple friends of ours had it done and they both said that it was a quick easy procedure. It was sore for a couple days and they used frozen broccoli for a couple days. But after a couple days it was fine. They also both said they nevered needed the painkillers that were prescribed.
staceyh (1126.9 days ago) I am 40 and my husband is 45...last year we found out I was pregnant...our baby is almost 6 months old...he is such a joy BUT if we were to wait a couple of years and then get pregnant again..we feel we would be too old....we have a 19 yr old son and 13 yr old daughter and now the baby...we felt like we were done!!! my husband had a vasectomy after the baby and one of his testicles stays sore....he regrets it...but it was way easier than my tubes being tied...like mamacakes said it is a short procedure and only costed a $40 copay...vs...me a hospital stay...I recommend it but its not my testicle that hurts..LOL
mamacakes (1126.9 days ago) my hubby just a vasectomy 4 weeks ago. Its a 5 min. procedure. He was sent home with pain killers but didnt need them. He just took Tylenol. For the first 24 hours he just rested, very strictly. We kept frozen peas on him...LOL...he said it felt so much better that way. And he said it wasnt pain it was a sore feeling. He just turned 35 last month. I would be very happy to answer ANY questions you might have about it.
aprilraine (1126.9 days ago) I ask because my SO will be 23 when our second child will be born and we just want two children, and he would rather have a vasectomy than have me get my tubes tied.
