Yes they encouraged it! but only for a short time after birth.
YES it was encouraged my whole stay there!
No they never mentioned the benefits of skin to skin contact .

Yes as soon as I had pushed her out they put her on me and put her straight on the boob and she stayed on me for near 3 hours before they took her and cleaned her up.

Yes. They said to help with breastfeeding I had to do it at least an hour but the longer the better. My nurse actually made family leave(which I didnt ask for but loved) for a while so I could lay skin to skin.

Melissa, my husband also went topless and sleep with her in his arms most of the first night so I could get some sleep between nursing!

I love my hospital. My lactation consultant there even had my husband go topless to cuddle + sleep with her.

They encouraged it and also had me do it to regulate his temp before we could go home. They always gave natural tips.
