At that age, it sounds like molars. I`d try offering him a drink, using a little origel on his back gums, check the diaper. If all his needs are met, he doesn`t have a fever, he`s clean and not in pain....well, I`d probably go with crying it out. One thing about CIO is you shouldn't go in when they are carrying on. If you wait an hour then go in, he'll realize hey I just need to cry a little longer to get her in here. I ONLY went in after the crying stopped or at least paused for a while reinforcing that crying doesn't work.. Then he'll connect being good and quiet with attention.

Sitting with him is not a bad habit that time of the morning, 3am yes, but NOT 5am. My 2nd used to get up that time normally for a long while and so did my twin nephews, not all kids sleep til 7 am. Mine never did. My other two slept til 5:30 then got up. 4-5 am is morning to him probably. So try putting him to bed later to see if he will sleep a bit later. And if you choose the CIO make sure it isnt done if he genuinly needs something. I am against it if it is used and he really does need something ((())) So be sure he doesnt need anything before you do it. Hunter has many toys lining his crib so when he wakes early he sits and plays for a while so be sure he has things to do in his crib to keep him self busy. Hunters crib has about 5 toys hanging from it to play with and ashelf he can reach to get books etc to play with. Also be sure you have night lights, maybe the dark is scaring him. Kids change and what was once ok may not always be later. If he is waking throughout the night could be he isnt full when he goes to bed, needs the next size diaper and is more wet and uncomfortable, cold, or teething and needs some mortin to help him settle in.. ((()))

That is creating some bad habits! I would either let him cry, o rgive him a water bottle and let him fall back to sleep. But NO WAY should you let that be his new wake up time! You have to teach him that it is still night time. Good luck!!

i hate the CIO method! I tried it with my first son and i still blame that for some of his sleep issues. It is awful. I followed the method by the book. I will wait a minute to see if my child will put himself back down, if not i go to him. Hug him and then lay him back down. i will rub his leg, back etc. They also have their comfort item that i give them.

When my lil one cries i go in,give him his pacifier, put his blanket back on,put his music back on and then i go right back to bed..then if he still cries (unless he`s sick) i let him cry it out if he`s up before 7..TOUGH to do,but it worked pretty good for both my kids..goodluck!!!

im totally not against CIO i DID do it when he was like 7 months, i had a similar problem w/ him, but it was a lot easier then... ive tried it this time! im telln u its like everything i do just isnt working... ive let him cry about 1 hr several times.. but the screaming just gets so unbearable... i feel like my whole neighborhood can hear him.. like im torturing him lol... but should i wait longer than an hour?? I feel like i can tell if hes going to cry himself back asleep, and lately i dont get that feeling.. i feel like he will scream and scream...

What time does he go to bed? My son just turned 15 mo and has been crying in the night a few times a night and is waking around 5:30 or 6 am. He goes to bed at 7:!5. He has been waking at night b/c of his molars (i think, he doesn`t talk so really it is an educated guess!). he wakes early b/c he is done sleeping. He is older now and doesn`t need the sleep he needed just 6 months ago :-) I just get up at 5:30 with him, we cuddle in bed ( i still bf in the AM only) and feed for about 20 minutes and then we come downstairs and i let him play while i veg on the couch until my coffee is in me and i can actually start to open my eyes. hehe. My older son is usually up around 6 too. It isn`t that terrible b/c we leave during the week at 7:30 at the latest. Sometimes putting your child to bed early will make them sleep longer (it worked for my older son), sometimes going to bed later will let them sleep in longer. Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy.

OMG, I posted on FB (in reponse to a suggestion made to me on From Our House To Yours) that I didn`t like a business because the items were very expensive and my friend got a bad deal there and the owner is threatening to sue me! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I actually paid a consultation fee and my lawyer told me that she was `absurd with possible mental health problems.` I am protected by the fisrt ammendment to express my honest opinions freely where I choose, but he said she can take it to court(because people can TRY to sue over anything) anyway and that it might cost me legal bills. We will both be out a lot of money because she couldn`t possibly win. Can you believe that? FML! First my records and now this! I hope my baby isn`t a bad luck baby. I see people not recommending or recommending businesses all the time on FB!

Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.

DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
