Doodlebug18 (1101.2 days ago) I don`t feel bad for her - just those 14 kids. She had no business having 6 to begin with when she can`t take care of them and to then go ahead and have Fertility Tx....who paid for all of this???? My hubby and I are undergoing this for the second time and it`s not cheap and we have the $$$ to do it and it`s hurting the shopping a little bit so I don`t understand - I`m just curious as to where the $$$ came from. But that`s the joys of Privatized Healthcare - have money?? will do whatever you want!!
monica9 (1102.8 days ago) it depends. they will hope to make about 10 follicules. they will go in and take the eggs from the sacs and grade them. depending on the grade, the best ones they will join with the eggs. the thing is, if you want twins, they will put in about 3 or 4 and hope only 2 take. but it is hard, b/c if you had 6 great eggs and only wanted 4 implanted, they choose which 4. the drs usually only like to put in up to 4 eggs. bc if all took and you only wanted a couple, then abortion becomes part of the story. they talk to you before hand and explain it. i think if she wanted to raise and care for that many kids, she should have had a couple of her own and adopted the rest. there are many kids out there that need a home and she is not working and single. my opinion
RobinG (1102.8 days ago) Every doc is different, my sister had invitro and while they fertilized 4 eggs they only placed in two, said they do not plce more then that in. She froze the other two.
HarimauDahan (1102.9 days ago) Not many companies or people are helping her out because of the bad image she is putting on herself. Other women with many multiples got donated houses and cars but this woman didnt get either and only one company that I`ve heard donated diapers which would only last a week with eight babies.
1honeymoonbaby (1102.9 days ago) from what I heard the doctor fetilized a bunch of eggs because usually only a couple will be sucessful... 7 were sucessful and the women refused to `play god` and had all 7 implanted. One split and thats why they didn`t know that there were 8... I think they are doin a specail on her this week on Dateline...
Terise (1103.2 days ago) I`m in Australia so it may be a little different but they only implant one egg at a time here, possibly 2 if they really think they need to but I was told that if you will fall with 2 eggs you would have fallen with just 1 also. Your chances of falling pregnant do not increase with the more eggs implanted. I dont know how this could be allowed to happen.
amygirl22 (1103.3 days ago) Well go figure: having that many kids, so many places are going to offer to help her just for publicity. Just to be the ones to say `hey we offered her free diapers for a year` or whatever. So she might not have that much of a money problem at first because everything is free.

slnkl (1103.3 days ago) its really up to the doctors on how much they implant in you. if they feel your body is up to it, then they`ll implant a few more only b/c your body is not going to really keep all of the embryos in. my sister had it done to her with both her kids. her first one they put in 10 embryos and was suppose to have twins, but one of them was a miscarriage. she ended up with only one.
luvbeingamom (1103.3 days ago) I don`t have a lot of knowledge about this, most of what i know i heard on the news in reference to this story. From what i understand it is more standard to implant 3 embryos, not 6. I don`t get it either! I was floored when i finally heard the whole story! I just feel bad for her now 14 children. She seems to be more out for the money then the well-being of the children. I also fault the doctor for doing the procedure in the first place. I find it bad medicine!
