california-mom (1083.7 days ago) Oh my lord...well I went into labor naturally with my 1st and it was easy as pie, no meds, epi etc. Piece of cake. The 2nd I was induced with cervidel only and it was a LOT more intense but I still managed to do it naturally. The 3rd I had pitocin and will NEVER BE INDUCED AGAIN. It was the most hands down excruciating pain Ive ever felt...Was out of control and ridiculous how much it hurt and it was so uncontrollable. I cant even explain was a difficult experience it was. I would never recommend it to anyone who wants to go natural, no meds or anything (I still did it naturally but the pain was unmanageable and breath taking). LOL did I make myself clear as to how much more painful it was?! Haha..
Juniper (1084.8 days ago) in reality, only a tiny number of births really *need* induction. I didn`t know any better with my first and was of the opinion *doctor knows best* - HA! no way! pitocin was awful for me it led to a pretty obvious epidural and then assissted ventouse delivery. That`s why I did a huge amount of research before my second birth and went with a midwife and avoided pitocin like the plague.
I know it`s hard at the end of pregnancy, but baby will come when he`s ready. Also with my first I was induced because they wouldn`t `allow` me to go any more over due... when really, who says so? I wouldn`t have allowed that with my second.
anyhoo..to cut a long story short..if it were me... no pitocin at all!!
aliwitbaby (1084.9 days ago) I`m 41.2 weeks, and I`m waiting until 42 weeks for induction because induction didn`t work so well for me before. He wanted to indice me at 39 weeks, I didnt jump at the chance.
lisamarie8503 (1085 days ago) I was induced (2 days before my due date) with pitocin because I was having major contractions but was not progressing. Before the pitocin I had some medevil procedure done on my where they stuck a foley catheter (spelling?) into my cervix/uterus, blew it up, and hung a weight on the end of it so it would pull on my cervix and make me dialate. Well this got me to 3 cm, then they put me on pitocin which did absolutley nothing, and my contractions were crazy bad, its just i wasnt progressing...so I ended up with a c-section...no biggie to me!
happyforest (1085 days ago) i was induced bc i was 3 days overdue. i had wanted a natural birth, but i was HUGE and had a feeling my baby was big even though they said not to worry, that he wouldnt be over 8 lbs. well good thing i let them induce me bc he was 9 lbs 5 oz!! i could have very easily ended up with a c/s if i had waited for him to come on his own. but if i wasnt at my due date yet and nothing was wrong i would go for natural bc induction is NO FUN!!
