it is becoming more and more uncommon here in Canada to not get it done, if you guys can`t reach a mutual decision, maybe wait until your son is old enough to decide for himself? I know it would be hard as a parent for me to do it, and then find out in the future that he would have rather you not done it. Like KiMikeBaby said, it can always be done in the future and not undone

Why does your husband want it done? My husband has his done. But we are not going to do our son`s because we can`t see any reason to. Like you said, in Scotland, and most places that aren`t North America, it isn`t done. And those men don`t seem to be having any problems with it. I`d think of it this way: it can always be done later; it can`t be undone.

My DH is circumcised therefor our son is too. It was more his decision than mine, but do see the benefits of it. It is a lot easier to keep clean (also for themselves when they get bigger) and this way he doesn`t look any different than his papa because that could cause some questions later in life. `Am I different? Why is my penis not like yours?` I was present at the procedure and cried, but if this baby is anohter boy it`ll be done again. I haven`t decided on whether I`ll be there this time or not.

I`m in NS. I only know one person who is, and says he wishes he wasn`t, it`s the norm to not do it in my area. My SO isn`t and I want my son to be like his father (and all the other men in his family)
