My DS is very allergic to amox. and he gets red and a very fine sandpaper type rash..once I stopped it and switched it clears up in a couple days..benedryl helped, but he was tested and we were told never to give it to him again since each time the reaction can get worse..

Just FYI- every subsequent exposure will have a more severe reaction. Also, a lot of people allergic to pennicillin are also allergic to sulfa antibiotics.

Izzy reacted last Tuesday and she is still healing up today...so it`s been almost a week at this point........we started using children's Benedryl and it seemed to help the rash lessen up a bit.
