Those moms should be shot!! Honestly, you wonder why pedophelia is running rampant in our society, because moms who never got to live their own dreams of being a beauty queen are forcing it upon their young daughters. Which is only going to give them a complex when they get older and then they`ll be wondering why their daughters are anorexic or bulemic. Seriously, it should be outlawed!! Kids need to be kids, not dressed like women with smaller undeveloped bodies!!! Makes me SICK!!

Jenakers - I would so LOVE to put my daughter in pageants if they were that way and only had those type of titles!! I don`t even agree with 1st, 2nd, 3rd runner up..but to have titles like best personality, best smile etc.. would be just fine, and if everything about the child was NATURAL. Every little girl loves dressing up, and so if she did that, just as herself in a cute dress, then that`s just fine!! Also, there would have to be enough `titles` for every child to win something ONCE. The way they are now is just AWEFUL.

So i just watched an episode of the show.... They say that megan won because she has natural beauty. Haha im sure if i load that much make-up and fake teeth on to my son he would be a beauty too :) haha this is just wrong!

i think if they want to do and its the childs choice then thats fine. I would never let my child shave tan or wear fake teeth. but if she wants to do pagents thats fine. Just not to the extreme that those mothers do. thats jsut wrong!

I watched it for the first time this weekend, and I was infuriated. A three year old girl was clapping and excited when she won First Runner-Up, with a trophy taller than herself. Her father exclaimed `She won NOTHING!` and went on to say that he was going to have to explain to his daughter than it just wasn`t her day, she didn`t do well enough. It made me so sad. Things like pageants and modeling could be fun if done the right way (as jenakers experience was, or my husband who was a child model and always just saw it as a fun time to go play, and it was his decision when to stop doing it). The show is just creepy and wrong.

I have seen the commercials for it I have never watched the show but I have known people how have done the same thing for their little girl who did pagents. It is sad!!! I could never put my little girl through all that!!!! It seem kind of perverted to me. Why would you make a 3yr old look so old?

I was going to ask this same poll. I was a child of the pagent circuit. The only make-up my mom ever put on me was blush. She made all of my dresses and made me look (as I was) A LITTLE GIRL. I never did the cutesey or sexy faces or poses. For my sportsware I went out on stage in biboverall shorts, a ponytail, bare feet with a fishing pole. At the time I had fun. My mom never pressured me to do them or to win. We were just there to get dressed up, play and have fun. The show really aggrivates me. It reminds me of what I saw back stage. A lot of the parents put so much emphisis on the way you look and not act. We were the happiest with the Miss Congeniality trophy. Pagents can be fun and build confidence if approached in the right way. Unfortunatly it is rarely the case.

I agree with you ladies, I`ve never seen the show, but I think it`s BS!!!! Shame on the mothers to do that to their little girls. Gosh I cried when I had to put my daughter high chair together because I felt like she is growing to fast.

it is very sad. the girls dont even get a chance to be little girls. they have the rest of their lives do shave and get spray tans and wear fake teeth! they need to enjoy being carefree while they can. i think it is just the mothers trying to live through their daughters bc they themselves are losers. they care about it more than the kids do!!

I`ve never seen it and probably never will but I`m watching TLC now and they keep playing the commercials for it so I just wondered if ppl actually watched it and if they did what they thought of it...

I think it`s gross to be honest. Especially shaving legs, false teeth, and hair pieces, excessive make up, false eyelashes, tans, etc... they`re teaching the children at a young age they need to be `fake` to be pretty!! It`s just ridiculous in my opinion. And they wonder why so many young girls have eating disorders, low self esteem, depression, etc..
