liltnkygrl (1074 days ago) I personally would want pain relief because I don`t want to be thinking about pain, or worrying about pain, while going through such a special moment in my life. having pain med`s does not make you any less of a woman.. also, if you are planning on having the other children share this moment with you, im sure they would feel slightly unconfortable seeing their mommy in such pain.
on the other side, you`ve acomplished it without pain med`s twice already.. so whats another time going to hurt?? Why add the risk of having an epi (although they are slight and very rare) when they may not be needed.
In your case, I would just go with the flow. Know you have the option available to you and let your l&d nurse know that you are taking the `see how it goes` route, that way they can be prepared for whatever you decide. Good luck!
happyforest (1074.1 days ago) i LOVED my epi!! and i had started out not wanting any pain meds but since i was induced with pitocin i changed my mind quickly!!
montanamamaof3 (1074.2 days ago) I had no pain med with my first 2 sons (not by choice-it wasn`t offered) and then in Feb I had son #3 and I got the epidural. Even though the labor was only 4 hours (others were way longer), I got the epi. Worth every pain free minute!!!
zookeeper (1074.3 days ago) Also, I felt so wonderdul after my drug-free birth that I`m not sure I would even want an epi if I have another...but I`d fill out the paperwork anyway ;)
zookeeper (1074.3 days ago) I had an epi with babies 1 and 2, and wanted to go drug free for baby 3 but I signed the epi paperwork and had it on file at the hospital so I could keep my options open - but my baby was crowning when I got to the hospital so a drug free delivery is what I had! Keep your options open and decide when the time comes. :)
karenbg (1074.4 days ago) from what I am hearing, every delivery is different so to me it doesn`t make sense to go in having already decided what you will opt for...keep your options open and go with the flow!
nmck (1074.5 days ago) There is no prize for feeling the pain!!
elita777 (1074.5 days ago) see how the labor goes,
but may be get an epidural this time? You need to experience `drugged` birth too! hehe joke
