mommy2be707 (1071.3 days ago) if its breast milk its bad because it will destroy all of the nurients
cortneyrg (1071.7 days ago) after 8 months of using a warmer that i hate i know use the microwave! i just check it every 15-30 seconds and shake it very well!
bethk (1071.7 days ago) It is safe to heat a bottle in a microwave but remeber to shake WELL to get rid of hot spots. I used the bottle warmer for 1st few mnths as new mum listening to Health Visitor but it used to take AGES! I turned to Microwave and couldnt believe Ididnt try it earlier! But if ur going to Breastfeed Im unsure if puttin Breastmilk in the micro is safe or not. But look into it! xx
emi (1071.8 days ago) There are to questions in you statement and both require different answers.. so i`m not sure which one to respond to. I warm breast milk in the microwave for just a few seconds to take the chill off.. but i don`t give bottles regularly.
Lou-Li-Ro (1072 days ago) to heat a bottle of milk up from being in the fridge, just boil the kettle, put the bottle in some sort of container (we use plastic jugs) and pour the boiling water in on top of the bottle, up to the level of the milk. just leave it for a couple of mins, shaking the bottle up now and thrn, then when you think it`s ready, just shake a few drops of milk on to your wrist; if it feels like body temp then it`s perfect. (Bottle warmers are more trouble than they`re worth, plus they take too long).
GavinsMum (1072.1 days ago) I just run mine under hot water. P.s if you are using breastmilk that was stored in a bag it warms up faster in the bag then it does in the bottle. Only take like 5 mins not even!
sgtoodles (1072.2 days ago) I agree with amber325- bottle warmer is waste of money. for my son we have always just put a small pan/bowl in sink with the bottle in it and let the hot water run over it. it only takes a few minutes to warm it up. i`ve always heard NOT to microwave because of hot spots that can burn baby.
JMendez (1072.2 days ago) I just used a big insulated cup from a gas station and put hot water in it and put the bottle inside the hot water in the cup. I used the drop in playtex bottles though so I`m not sure how it would work with other bottles.
BrookeAmber (1072.2 days ago) i put the cold water in the microwave.. then add formula
daydays mom (1072.2 days ago) dont heat up breast milk in microwave it takes away the nutrition.
lisamarie8503 (1072.2 days ago) If it is BPA free bottle use the microwave. The reason they say NOT to use the microwave is because it can heat some spots of the liquid hotter than others. So just shake it up real good and test it before hand. Thats all...I did it for 13 months and still use the microwave to warm whole milk. It is no big deal...just shake it good!
RobinG (1072.2 days ago) Oh an bottle warmers take to long IMO ~ if you dont want to micro it you can just take it out ahead of time and allow it to get to room temp in a glass of hot water. That is fine too ~
RobinG (1072.2 days ago) formula is safe to warm, just be sure not to over warm and shake it well :) I did with all three and it was fine ~ the dangers are risk of heating it to much and causing burns but that has never happened to me since I dont nuke it forever and always check it prior to feeding :) I always just make it room temp, never hot ~
armymom (1072.2 days ago) if its breastmilk then no.. you cant use the microwave. Formula... yes.
luvbeingamom (1072.2 days ago) A microwave heats very unevenly and can be dangerous. I loved our bottle warmer that i had wiht my first but it did take a while. So after a little while i would just run it under hot water or heat water in the microwave and then put the bottle in the pre-heated water.
mamacakes (1072.2 days ago) microwave is fine..i have used it for both my kids...just shake it before feeding because they heat un-evenly...
amber325 (1072.2 days ago) just run it under hot water. Bottle warmer = waste of money PLus they take too long...( OR fill a vase with hot water...place bottle in vase..and take it out in 3-4 minutes...cheap warmer)
